okay, my idea for a Saiyuki Reload thread didn't do as well as I'd hoped, so let's change tactics (and anime)
Tokko is a series about demons. more accurately, it centers around a young police officer who, along with his sister and a few other people, survived the complete annihilation of their childhood apartment complex (resulting in the slaughtering of their parents and some siblings). the officer takes his promotion exam, and becomes an Inspector, though his sister remains in the Beat Cop field. however, unknown to them (in the beginning, at least), they are Symbionts. Inside their bodies, a demon lives. some of them are awakened, giving them speed, strength, power, and a sort of spiritual blade formed of their own soul. Tokko is the agency that fights the demons, which are trying to invade and take over. the young cop is forced into an awakening by Tokko because they need his help, and because he has the same goals as them, to eradicate the threat the Demons pose.
however, they aren't the only Symbionts. some have been awakened by the enemy, and fight against them.
