Curious to know who among has unconventional dietary habits. Is anyone vegetarian or Vegan? Are you into raw foods or macrobiotics?

If yes, how long? What prompted the change? How did you about changing your diet? Any additional details you'd like to share are welcomed.

I stopped eating meat in the late 80s. My family is plagued with severe health challenges and I simply didn't want to lead the kind of life that was marred with poor health, disease and premature death.

I have gone through periods of strict Vegan diet to now including seafood in my diet. I still abstain from all beef, pork, poultry. I occasionally, I eat dairy though my system isn't crazy about it. I'm lactose intolerant.

Peace,

daughter

I used to be a vegetarian for almost 8 years until i was diagnosed with a chronic illness so that I had to start meat again. Fortunately I dont have to eat vast amounts of so I usually eat chicken once a week and does the trick. 95% of my diet is still vegetarian.

I love tofu - if it is correctly made it can very very very tastey. My best friends are Jewish/Buddhists/Hindu respectively so I'm used to different diets and enjoy them. =)

Daughter,
I am not even sure how to classify my diet. In the previous thread about soy flour, I gave some insight into my strange body. It really doesn't like a lot of manmade food. I have quite a bit of food allergies. I strive to grow my own vegetables. I eat little meat- mostly chicken and seafood. I've been vegetarian and vegan, but due to some other health issues, I discontinued.
I did find out today that my files indicated I have a small allergy to rice derived products. I am going in next month for another series of tests.
What sort of diet helps you feel your best?
