Would you tell us about it?

Love to

Used Yahoo and managed to hear her sing 'Hopelessly devoted to You'

It was better than Olivia, Dolly or Whitney. Much better.

K is lucky to have such a talented wife.

:rose:

It was good to hear her voice too, very sexy, a beautiful American accent.

Yahoo voice only lasted long enough to hear Gracie and then her daughter sing.

She takes after her mum, but with a quieter voice ;)

Isn't the internet amazing :)

Edited to change song title because I am an idiot :(

It was 'Hopelessly Devoted to You', by Olivia Newton John. Although I can do I will always love you. :)

And B has a beautiful voice. She's only three and she can carry a tune. Plus she knows, by heart, 10 different songs. A is also very talented, but she wasn't as talented as B when she was three. D, who's 2, can hum three songs, with the occasional word thrown in. He does that when he wants me to sing those specific songs. (Namely The good night song -from The Music Man, a song from Barbie's the Princess and the Pauper, and The Itsy Bitsy Spider.) It's so cute.

There are some so talented people here on the boards.

It does not surprise me that gracie is one of them :)

Actually, I was brought up to think that everyone has a talent, even if they haven't found it yet, and with all the amazing photography and art and stories and all the other creative thingimijigs that are knocking about, I am finding that my mothers wisdom is indeed correct.

I just giggled that your children's initials are B, A, and D.

I can sing, just that I haven'tr practiced in a long while. I should start practicing and actually make use of the microphone sitting right beside me.

LOL I never noticed that. They were born in the order of A, B, and D.

What I miss is playing my clarinet. I played every year from the time I was 10 till I was 18. But it's hard to play with the kids around, and I haven't pulled it out in about a year. Singing is something I can do with the kids grabbing at the keys and all that. Plus they can do it with me.

Jen, I agree about everyone having a talent. But I don't necessarily think that talents are always like music, art, or things like that. Sometimes a person's talent is for helping people. Other times it's for organizing things. Just because their talents aren't as obvious as someone who has something tangible to show, (like a painting) doesn't mean that it's not as important, ya know?

I'm not bad! That's my evil twin. I'd tell you her name, but that might summon her . . .

Shh, she's got really good hearing. I'd swear she can read my mind.

I found out yesterday that apparently I'm not as bad at writing poetry as I thought I was lol.

I still prefer stories.

Oh I absolutely agree with you, and I'm sorry I might have given you the wrong impression of what I thought. Of course not all people are talented in the arts (although many more people are than they give themselves credit for, I've noticed) and there are indeed millions of other talents. Owen is not very artsy- he can't paint or draw or sing but he is a wonderful listener, for example and very creative in the problem solving department which saves our bacon on many an occasion. He sometimes gets down about not being as obviously "creative" as others in our circle of friends, but I am helping him to see that his talents are just as valid, and maybe even more important because they are so understated, if you see what I mean :)

Actually I was talking generally, not specifically at you. I just went into lecture mode, I guess. lol Probably cause I'm embarrassed as all get out.

Your talent is making people laugh. And you're really good at it. You also are great at comebacks, something I would KILL for. lol

Hey, how'd I miss this thread. Cool. I didn't even know you were musical, gracie.

Playing an instrument is totally beyond my brain, that's very neat.

Talent is important, but let's not forget, 10% inspiration 90% perspiration. I think natural inclination gets us excited about our art form or thing we are good at and makes us want to do it a lot. Doing it a lot is a big part of it, too.

Part of why I like music so much is cause it's such a great way to release stress. When I'm mad, if I sing I get unmad, quick. As a matter of fact, if I need to stay mad I have to be careful not to sing or play. I dunno, it's sort of like taking all that nasty feelings inside me and singing them out.

I was second clarinet in highschool, but only 6th chair. I probably could have been better, but practicing was not encouraged in my home. I was always made to practice at the back of the house, in this cold room that creeped me out. *shudders* Besides, I was pretty busy with my sister and my mom and the house. I didn't have the time or energy to add one more thing I had to do to my list.
