Siren I know in that past me and you have had our differences in the past. However what you just said sums up the feeling of the entire country right now. I admit I was one of those ignorant souls who used to think terrorism and bombings happen "over there' so to speak until it happened in my hometown, the place I grew up in.
Thank you for summing up the pulse of all Americans right now
You ARE safe. We will make that so once again. Don't over-react. Will you allow yourself to tremble in fear, or alter your existence, for a few men with pocket knives? Stay the fuck out of the cave! THAT - is your duty as an American.
I challenge every single one of you to defy! PROVE your mettle as a CERTAIN American. No one spits in your face. Walk tall.....
NO one fucking walks on my country. No one. Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled......... find a way. If you cower they win. Our entire cabinet of politicians have set the precident (amazingly) - be an American. We walk tall.
know this by the response of literoticans on the boards today. That many here share your thoughts and have the same feelings as you. What a united front we have right here at lit. Look at the coming togetherness that is being demonstrated here. World wide even. Yes, this is a tragic day in US history. Isn't it comforting to know that others are willing to talk about it and lend support. Look at all the litroticans that have given of themselves to give blood, donate money, make phone call, etc.
Yes, even NY'ers who normally are not very friendly towards one another are pulling together. Yes, it is tragic, but as you say. Out from the ashes, there's some good things being done. Can we try to focus on the positive without forgetting what happend? Maybe it is easier said than done. Isn't it worth trying.
I have many relatives in NY, still hoping to hear from them. So we're trying to stay upbeat and positive here. They would want us to. Take comfort in knowing we are all in pain. Let's help each other. Is that making sense?
