"Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue"..........play it??

Not??

Here 'tis! Peter Jennings, Canadian Peter Jennings, didn't like it!

You judge.

American girls and American guys, will always stand up and salute.
We'll always recognize, when we see ol' glory flying,
There's a lot of men dead,
So we can sleep in peace at night when we lay down our heads.
My daddy served in the army where he lost his right eye,
But he flew a flag out in our yard 'til the day that he died.
He wanted my mother, my brother, my sister and me.
To grow up and live happy in the land of the free.

Now this nation that I love is fallin' under attack.
A mighty sucker-punch came flying in from somewhere in the back.
Soon as we could see clearly through our big black eye,
Man, we lit up your world like the fourth of July.

Hey, Uncle Sam put your name at the top of his list,
And the Statue of Liberty started shaking her fist.
And the eagle will fly and it's gonna be hell,
When you hear Mother Freedom start ringing her bell.
And it'll feel like the whole wide world is raining down on you.
Ah, brought to you, courtesy of the red, white and blue.

Instrumental break.

Oh, justice will be served and the battle will rage:
This big dog will fight when you rattle his cage.
An' you'll be sorry that you messed with the U.S. of A.
'Cos we'll put a boot in your ass, it's the American way.

Oh, oh.
Of the red, white and blue.
Oh, hey, oh.
Of my Red, White and Blue.

Until this incident, I LIKED Peter Jennings. I mean, it has the word ass in it. No big deal. I think Toby had it right. Jennings' a dick.

Yeehaw!!!!!

Nothing makes the United States seem quite like a group of foul mouthed hillbillies like a country singer.

And, Old Dirty Bastard & Snoop are any better? Just look at that sigline, man. Nothing against you, but, I can't stand rap music.

Let's see pride in your country and your father's military service or pride in your homies beating up their girlfriends.

I'll take the "uncool" one every time.

TRue. But, I don't believe that has anything to do with it. I just can't understand rappers like Busta Rymes. I need a damn interpretor. I can sorta understand what Snoop is saying.

Wait-a-go, MG. ANYONE that would rather have pride in beating women, then their country, needs to sort things out.

What are you basing the beating your girlfriends thing on?

The truth of the matter is that when it comes to modern social and political thought Rap has it in spades over Country.

ahhhh thats whats nice about the USA,,,,,,can speak your opinion, right, wrong, or indifferent.

personally I think rap sucks. but I believe they have the right to play it.
Peter Jennings sucks...................
Disco sucks.

those are just a few of my opinions,,if you don't like that,,so be it....thats what makes this country great. I don't like your opinions,,, but I'll fight along side of you to defend your right to voice it.

Modern social and political thought. Thanks for explaining that.

Then you just arent paying attention to the scene. Canibus released one. Dre is working on one. Eminem made fun of Osama Bin Laden.

But has there been any country song with the Political and Social impact as "Fight the Power" or "Fuck tha Police" or "Cop Killer?"

Yep. MANY of em. "Where Were You...,"Courtesy of Red, White, Blue," America Can Survive," Don't Laugh At Me," THe THunder Rolls," "Independence Day," "BEaches Of Cheyanne," "Osama Yo Mama," "God Bless The USA," just to name a few. Obviously, you've never listened to Garth Brooks. 3/4 of his songs deal with Social issues. And, I only named 2 of them in that list.

I can understand

how people can be offended, it is very patriotic, something that I am very much....I think every one should love their country, so my point of view...

If you don't love it, LEAVE it!

Forever may you fly high RED WHITE AND BLUE!!!

....and if you ever call me to serve, I'll be there front and ready.
