It is, but follow the instructions! There are lots of old threads on this topic on the "how to" board. Here's the cliff notes version:

Do your test patch to make sure you aren't sensitive to Magic. Keep it on only as long as instructions say, starting with the shortest period the first time. Use the spatula as the tube describes. Rinse completely in the shower with clear water only. Do not wash with soap! If you ignore all other instructions, don't ignore that last one!

And last, but not least, try to keep your hands off of yourself after you're nice and smooth and bare. I dare ya.
