"To me, fair friend, you never can be old,
For as you were when first your eye I ey'd,
Such seems your beauty still. Three winters cold,
Have from the forests shook three summers' pride,
Three beauteous springs to yellow autumn turned,
In process of the seasons have I seen,
Three April perfumes in three hot Junes burned,
Since first I saw you fresh, which yet are green.
Ah! yet doth beauty like a dial-hand,
Steal from his figure, and no pace perceived;
So your sweet hue, which methinks still doth stand,
Hath motion, and mine eye may be deceived:
For fear of which, hear this thou age unbred:
Ere you were born was beauty's summer dead."
William Shakespeare, Sonnet CIV

And of course this one too.

"No longer mourn for me when I am dead
Then you shall hear the surly sullen bell
Give warning to the world that I am fled
From this vile world, with vilest worms to dwell:
Nay, if you read this line, remember not
The hand that writ it; for I love you so
That I in your sweet thoughts would be forgot
If thinking on me then should make you woe.
O, if, I say, you look upon this verse
When I perhaps compounded am with clay,
Do not so much as my poor name rehearse.
But let your love even with my life decay,
Lest the wise world should look into your moan
And mock you with me after I am gone."
Sonnet LXXI

I should be sleeping. Instead I'm geeking out on Shakespeare quotes.
It always amazes me that I can read (or watch) one of his works countless times and still find something new about it every time around.

Why are you still awake?

Oh, and the insults. Those might be my favorite. They seem to trippingly roll off the tongue. :D

"Thou clay-brained guts, thou knotty-pated fool, thou whoreson obscene greasy tallow-catch!"

Anyway. Happy birthday. :rose:

is it Wilie the Shake's birthday?Ah, his death day!

I have sausages, potatoes and eggs to cook, tomorrow.

My first chore.

Then, grand daughter's birthday!

In that case Happy Birthday to her as well! :rose:
She's in great company. :)

My first chore is to take the puppy out at an ungodly early hour in the morning. At least I don't have to carry him down the stairs anymore. Trying to log 33 pounds of wiggling cuteness down the stairs in the dark when I'm half asleep is quite dangerous.

Puppies!

Little stinker is still not fully potty trained. I keep reminding myself that he's only four months old, but all my other dogs have been potty trained by this age.
It's good that he's so damned cute. And that he doesn't eat his own poop. Yeah, that's a definite positive.

I started to train him to run along the bike with me. We have a bit of ways to go on that front but he almost ran under the bike only a couple of times so we'll get there.

does he heel?

does he heel?

We're working on it. He's pretty good, but only on leash. I started to run with him a few weeks ago to get him used to not crossing left and right in front of me. Once he stopped tripping me we graduated to the bike.

he has to get good at heeling before the bike.

I agree. I think he's good enough though. I just need to take him to a bit shorter distances with the bike than what we did today. If I don't run him he's bouncing off the walls he has so much energy.

Time for me to go to sleep. Good night. :rose:

A dear friend sent me this:

Shakespeare Solos
Oh Ms. Gypsy, what a way to start the late evening/morning. Feeling out on quoting and watching Shakespeare. I remembered when the local movie theater actually showed Kenneth Branagh's version of Hamlet. One geek surrounded by college/high school literature classes. The students may have grumbled because they had to be there, but I was in heaven.
Thank you for making this Saturday a little brighter.

Speaking of Kenneth Branagh. We just watched all three seasons of Wallander. He's still a handsome sob. It was weird to see him in this role as I've only seen him perform Shakespeare before that.
