what's Mugabe up to nowadays?

Since that fiasco of an election I thought the whole region would be near a bloodbath by now. Do you think the African States are keeping quiet for the sake of unity?

After all isn't it near time for the Annual Aid Hand Out?

Your right about Mugabe, its been pretty quiet since the election. I dont think there being quiet for the sake of unity, I think the media is just not covering whats probably going on in that part of the world. As for handouts, your boy Bush is giving African countries 1.3 billion to combat aids. Which seems like a waste of money to me, as no matter how much you pay people they will not change their behavior.

Not only Bush but Bush's pet poodle Blair is talking about providing more aid to African States justifying it in some cases as a fight against terrorism.

As most aid given to these countries end up in the politicians pockets I think the whole question of aid is a waste of time without stringent and enforceable restrictions on how the money is spent.

But that's probably a pipe dream...
