To buy a slave

Tess walked into the kitchen putting away the food from the garden, and went to the owner for her next task. he told her to go into the sitting room. she couldn't understand why until she walked in and saw him. the man who enslaved her. there was nothing she could do, no where to run, no one who would help. she stood against the ground, looking at the floor.

Castor dragged Eloriel to the bedroom and to the window that overlooked the garden. He took a length of cloth from the chest that contained the slaves' jewelry and 'clothing' and tied one end to Eloriel's collar, the other to a hinge on the window. Kneeling there she could neither stand nor lie down. Neither could she look away from the garden where the sobbing Aaja knelt.

"You are as culpable as she," Castor declared. "You will kneel here tonight and watch her suffer. You could have spared her this, but you did not. If you do not learn this lesson tonight, then I will separate you."

He removed his own clothing and climbed into bed. He contemplated his anger with the detached eye he had cultivated over a long career, and found he was angry at himself. He was angry that he had allowed Democritus to deceive him for so long, and Aaja had suffered as a result. Now, in his anger at Democritus, he had over-reacted. Now Aaja and Eloriel were suffering. Damn the man.

In the morning Castor rose and made use of the chamberpot. He walked to the window where Eloriel was kneeling.

"Has she moved?" he asked.

"No, lord," she replied.

Castor untied her. "Remove my jewelry from your body and clean my room," he ordered as he walked out of the room.

Maurice, wrapped in his cloak, was sitting on the ground with his back to a wall. He was awake, though, and rose when Castor strode into the garden.

"Good morning, lord," he greeted Castor.

"Has she moved?" he asked.

"Not at all, lord. She has been most obedient. As have I," the man added.

Castor nodded and clapped the man on the shoulder. "I was very angry last night, Maurice, and I spoke ill-considered words. I have no doubts regarding your loyalty or obedience. Thank you for your service."

The young man nodded and walked off towards the stables in search of a quiet place to sleep.

Castor examined, Aaja. She had not moved, even when he had walked past her, and remained shivering and kneeling on the ground. He bent over and picked up the switch that had lain in front of her eyes all night. He examined it and then dropped it on the ground before her.

"I may need this again, soon," he said. "You will carry it in your mouth while you go to my room, remove the jewelry you wear, and help your companion clean my quarters. When you are done, you will return the switch to the kitchen and take a bowl of gruel to the gate. Wait there for your brother. When he arrives, give him food and invite him in. I will hear his tale."

He paused.

"I would prefer to be kind, Aaja, but I can be cruel if that is what I must be." He walked over to the kitchen to get his breakfast.

Aaja slowly moved to rise, on stiff joints and thanked Castor softly, kissed his feet and then took the switch into her mouth, nearly running inside. She hastily removed the jewellery and helped Eloriel with the cleaning. Both of them worked in shamed silence as they got the work done, efficiently and as quickly as possible. The switch sat unmoved on the foot end of the bed as they cleaned, a silent reminder to them as they worked that there was indeed retribution for misbehavior and that they got the minimal amount of it.

Aaja kissed Eloriel on the cheek before returning the switch (in her mouth) to the kitchen and asking the servant who'd turned her in for a bowl of gruel. The servant made some sniggering remark that Aaja ignored before taking the bowl and heading outside to the garden to look for Shiro. She whistled at the gate. There was a long wait and she worried that he had gone away after her not coming to the gate the previous night but soon she heard some rustling in the brush and she saw Shiro come to the gate, tentatively. He had a worried expression on his face as he approached. "Are you, alright, Aaja?" he asked.

Aaja nodded, not meeting his gaze as she opened the unlocked gate and let him inside. "Come and have some breakfast, Shiro."

He slowly stepped through, looking around, "Aren't you worried about your master finding out I'm here?" he asked.

"No...he knows...he found out. That's why I couldn't meet you last night. I ...got into some trouble for keeping the truth from him." admitted Aaja.

"I know..." admitted Shiro softly as he ate, "...I heard the yelling."

Aaja was embarrassed to be pitied by her brother. "I deserved it." she said.

Shiro didn't know what else to say to her since he didn't believe her so he simply focused on his breakfast. Aaja stood by and fumed at herself for making Castor look bad in front of her little brother. She hated that he pitied her when she felt lucky to have Castor in her life.

Joe & Tess

Joe smiled as Tess recognised him he knew that she had nowhere to go only back to the slave compound with him.

“Hello! Tess,” he said in a way of greeting. “It appears your master has been a bit careless and has misplaced you,” he said with his smile broadening as he spoke.

“Now I’m going to take you back to the compound and have you cleaned up and then put onto the block, if you’re not sold by nightfall you’ll be mine for the night,” he informed her as he got up from his seat and took hold of her arm leading her out into the main room.

“Thank you for your help,” Joe said to the owner as they left the building heading back to the city. Joe hoped they wouldn’t run into the guy who’d purchased her and then proceeded to lose her.

tess shivered as he took her arm walking quickly out of the room, and back towards town to be sold again tonight. she avoided making eye contact with him at all costs. she had already been sold, why did he care what happened after he had made his money on her once already.

Castor sighed as he walked out of the foyer. His career had largely become a matter of balancing the desires of one person against the desires of another person. Writ large this simply became a matter of balancing the desires of factions. But it was often the individuals that were hardest to deal with, even amongst his clients. With an empty bowl in his hand, and yet still undressed, he walked towards the kitchen. As he passed into the cloister he spied Aaja talking with a young man, maybe a boy. The racial resemblance was obvious and he assumed this was the brother she had spoken of.

The boy sighted him and leapt to his feet, but Castor ignored him and walked into the kitchen. He re-filled his bowl and grabbed the switch before walking back out into the garden. Aaja made a full bow to him, head pressed to the ground, while the young man watched him warily, ready to bolt for the gate and freedom beyond.

"I am still angry, Aaja, that you kept this secret from me. But I allowed my anger at Democritus to color my anger with you. I will not do that again," he promised.

He set the bowl of gruel down on the ground next to her. "Eat. You have little enough flesh on your body as it is. You certainly can't afford to miss meals and hunger is not a whip I intended to use upon you."

He looked the boy, Shiro she had called him, over. Thin enough to slip through the bars of the gate, likely enough, he thought. Some of that was the gangly nature of teens in the last throes of growing into their adult bodies, but some of it was malnutrition. His clothing was almost stereotypically barbarian; all leather and fur and filthy. Likely he was lousy.

Castor sat down on a stone wall and pointed to the half-eaten bowl of food Aaja had brought out. Then he pointed to Shiro and mimed eating.

"Eat," he said.

Aaja looked up, about to comment, but Castor idly flicked the switch in the air and gave her a hard, questioning look. She returned to eating her food.

"Eloriel!" Castor called.

The young woman came bounding down the stairs, breasts bouncing lightly as she ran over to them. She bowed her head. "Lord?"

"I will talk to Shiro now. You will translate. Aaja will finish her food and remain silent," he warned.

He looked at Shiro, even now finishing the gruel in his bowl. "Tell me," he said.

Aaja wanted very much to help translate for her brother but Castor made it very clear he would not tolerate any interference from her. Eloriel gave her a reassuring smile and then walked to stand between Shiro and Castor and translate. "Tell him who you are and what you want, boy." she said to Shiro as he stared dumbfound at Castor.

Shiro stood. At his full height he was still only about chin high to Castor and would likely never grow to be even close to the older man's height. He looked up with his large, sad, sky blue eyes and explained, Eloriel translated nearly as quickly as he spoke, "My mother is dying from an infected stab wound to her stomach, Lord Castor. She wants to know that her daughters and nieces are safe and happy before she dies. She at least asked me to find out where they all are, but if I could to bring them home to say goodbye. I have been looking all over this land for my sisters and cousins. I haven't found anything more than cold trails, women taken to other lands, sold, then sold again, then sold again...abused every step of the way...I worry that I will never find the others and I hang around here because I feel blessed to have even stumbled upon your estate and found Aaja. Our circle has been broken. Every family in our tribe has now dead or missing members. Our whole society is falling apart as a result...Everyone wants me to do something to help and I don't know what to do."

Meliara

When Jason finally slipped out of Meliara's wet pussy, she found herself to be exhausted. She did not resist as he kissed her on the cheek and wrapped his arms around her.

“Sleep well my little slave,” Meliara only winced a little at being called a slave. She bit her lip as she decided she would have to accept it. The little elf kept silent and thought to herself about what would happen to her. She felt very warm being held in his arms and could feel his breath on her neck as she drifted into a deep sleep.

Joe & Tess

Joe walked Tess back to the compound and had her bathed her hair was washed and once she’d been dried and her hair done she was put on the block alongside Rose and left to the buyer to see if anybody would buy her.

He was pleased that they’d get double the money for her once she was sold again and he knew that Jason would like the extra money.

Miren

Merin stretches as she rises from the tub. She stands proudly, tall and willowy, with her graceful arms reaching for the ceiling, her head arched back as the water trickles from her long pale hair, and splashes back into the tub. Shivering as the scented water evaporates off her warm skin, she reaches for a drying sheet and steps out of the cooling water of the bath.

Drying her fair skin with the coarse sheet, rubbing until she is pink, all the while she is wishing for the finer, more delicate material of her own people. The human world lacks refinement, she notes once again. She had to modify their finest lotion to make it even barely tolerated by her delicate skin. However, she is pleased with her achievement and enjoys the silky feel of the lotion as she applied it to her skin with long, smooth strokes.

She leaves the bathing room and returns to her sleeping chamber. Then, sitting on edge of her soft bed, she combs out her hair and braids it into a single rope-like plait that hangs down to tickle her thigh. With a soft yawn, she lays her head back against the colorful pillows and relaxes her body into the soft cushions before peacefully drifting into sleep.

Jason

Having had a willing partner for the first time in a long time Jason slept well and woke next morning feeling fully refreshed carefully disentangling himself from Meliara he rose and went to the bathroom for his bath before he would dress and order breakfast for the three of them.

Once he was dressed he left the bedroom and went to the main door as Merin didn’t appear to be about he called the serving slaves and told them to bring a breakfast of fruit enough for three of them knowing that Merin ate a lot for her slim frame he was sure that Meliara would also eat well. He’d assumed she hadn’t eaten much the previous evening because of nerves wondering what was going to happen to her and now it was all over she’d probably be ravenous.

He saw Joe taking the misused slave out to the block and noticed that she looked a lot better and would probably bring in a good price. As he had some time to spare before breakfast would arrive he went out to the selling area to see how things were progressing even though he knew he could rely on his main men.

He could see Joe setting up the slave he’d been guiding and Sam already had another new slave on the block they were the two that interested Jason as they would bring the best prices there were others on the block but they didn’t compare with these two.

Having satisfied himself that everything was in order Jason returned to his quarters ready for breakfast arriving as the serving slaves were coming out he waited until they’d cleared the door before entering.

Miren

Forced to wait until Jason finished his bath, Miren entertains herself by coloring the nails of her fingers and toes a soft pink. She uses a temporary coloring she made herself with ingredients traded from the servants. Looking at the effects, she lets slip a little sigh. She would have liked a slightly darker color but the needed berry was not available to humans. Still, it is quite pretty, and she wonders how human females choose to decorate themselves. Since the only human females she has seen are slaves, and can't make their own choices, she has no idea what free women are like among the humans... or even if there are any.

Soon it is her turn and still feeling the pleasant effects of her late night bath, it does not take her long to prepare for the day. She washes and fixes her hair, no longer confined by its braid, Miren’s hair hangs strait down her back, as she joins Jason in the main room of their quarters.

“Good morning,” She greets him with a polite smile. “Will the little one be joining us for breakfast this morning?”

Aaja ate slowly, listening carefully to the conversation between Castor and Shiro, the line of stinging pain on the skin of her buttocks and her stiff knee joints reminding her not to dare look up or interfere. She must trust in Castor now, or she and those close to her would suffer the consequences. She thought of her Eloriel's lovely white skin, and not wanting to see such welts on her companion, nor make her lover endure the pain of a whipping simply because of her own stupid mistakes. Aaja finished her gruel and set the bowl down quietly in front of her, still bowing, still repenitent. She hoped Castor would not stay angry at her forever. She loved him and wanted his approval.

Jason & Miren

“Good Morning Miren, I hope you slept well,” Jason replied. “I hope she’ll be joining us but I didn’t wake her when I left the bed, perhaps you should go and wake her,” he added with a smile. He was sure that even after the night together Meliara would be embarrassed if he woke her and it was about time she rose and refreshed herself for breakfast.

As usual Miren looked gorgeous with her long hair down her back, he was a little surprised to see that she’d remembered that in his quarters she remained naked as befitted a slave although she’d put on the almost sheer gown to go outside.

“After breakfast can you check on the pregnant girl, can you take Meliara with you as nobody will bother her in your company,” He suggested to Miren, he didn’t want to keep her with him as he checked everything was running smoothly in the compound but he did want her to have some protection.

He poured drinks for them both while they sat together and waited to see if Meliara would rise herself or if one of them would need to wake her.

Miren

“Good Morning Miren, I hope you slept well,” Jason replied. “I hope she’ll be joining us but I didn’t wake her when I left the bed, perhaps you should go and wake her,” he added with a smile.

“She will wake when she is ready; there is no need to disturb her sleep, unless you have need of her now.” Miren raises a questioning brow as she takes her usual seat at the table.

“After breakfast can you check on the pregnant girl, can you take Meliara with you as nobody will bother her in your company,”

“I am not paying a social call, I am seeing to the health of an abused girl and the child she carries, there is no place for Meliara in that.” He voice is smooth and calm as she continues, “My concern for her safety will only distract me from my purpose and limit my ability to concentrate on my duty.” Miren pauses to give the matter some thought, “If you are worried about Meliara's safety, no harm will come to her here or… in the kitchens. The serving staff is quite pleasant, and in her future, she will better serve her master if she can tend all of his needs. Those needs are culinary as well as sexual.”

She takes the drink he pours for her, and thanks him as she lifts it to her lips.

Sam & Tarnok

"I understand that you are holdign an auction here but I assure you I have plenty of money to line your coffers and would prefer to skip the auction take my pick and forgo the wasted time of bidding. In fact you may name your price I just wish to inspect the girls before hand."

"As you can see sir we have plenty of girls for you to choose from," Sam told the stranger. "But Rose & Tess are the best of the bunch I'm sure we can come to an arrangement if you require one or both," he added.

"Jason isn't available at the moment but I can carry out the transaction if you'd like to examine the goods," Sam explained.

Jason, Miren & Meliara

“If you are worried about Meliara's safety, no harm will come to her here or… in the kitchens. The serving staff is quite pleasant, and in her future, she will better serve her master if she can tend all of his needs. Those needs are culinary as well as sexual.”

Jason laughed at this Miren always seemed to state the obvious while he just blundered along. “You’re right as always,” he agreed. “She can go to the kitchens and either learn to cook or help with the preparation of the midday meal,” he added.

“Now if she’s going to remain in bed I think we should start breakfast,” Jason suggested looking at the fruit and nuts on the table, handing Miren a plate he started to put some onto his own plate while they were alone there was no need for her to play the part of his slave even if she might be in the future.

“I’ll have one of the serving slaves wake her after I’ve left then escort her to the kitchens. It will be quite a surprise for her to help prepare our lunch time meal,” he said with a smile.

“I’m not going to put her on the block for a couple of days, I’m going to keep her here and teach her how to please her master when she’s sold,” he informed Miren as he ate his food.

You’re right as always,” he agreed. “She can go to the kitchens and either learn to cook or help with the preparation of the midday meal,”

Miren graciously nodded, acknowledging the truth in his words. “It will serve her well, a change in circumstances may at any time necessitate additional skills, and knowledge is never wasted.”

“Now if she’s going to remain in bed I think we should start breakfast,”.

Merin chooses for herself the usual assortment of fruits and nuts. She even takes a very little piece of bread, a rarity in her diet. She smiles as she delicately bites into it.

“I’ll have one of the serving slaves wake her after I’ve left then escort her to the kitchens. It will be quite a surprise for her to help prepare our lunch time meal,” he said with a smile.

“I am certain she will agree it is preferable to following me and I think she will enjoy their company while giving them her assistance. She is bright, should learn quickly and perhaps she will even have a talent for it. After all, great artists can be found in the kitchen, she may prove to be one of them.”

“I’m not going to put her on the block for a couple of days, I’m going to keep her here and teach her how to please her master when she’s sold,” he informed Miren as he ate his food.

Miren’s expression remains tranquil, “As I said, the more she knows, the better her future will be so, I am pleased that you find her worthy of the time and the effort of additional training.”

When Shiro trailed off, Castor considered his words. 'What a lot of trouble over a slave,' he thought. But he also knew the thought was false. He might keep slaves, but he didn't for a minute think that he did so out of any right other than might. If Aaja and Eloriel were to be other than livestock akin to the horses in his stable, and if he was to be anything other than a soul-less monster, then he had to honor the obligations that existed between them as fully as he would honor the obligations that existed between his clients and him.

"Timasisus!" he called.

The young man trotted out of the foyer. "Lord?"

"This young man will be taking you to his homeland. You will take four other men with you. I recommend veterans, but the choice is yours. You will send him and his injured mother back with three of the veterans. You and one man will remain to deal with his people. Buy what goods they have available and contract for the delivery of future goods."

He pointed at Shiro's clothing. "If they have furs of that quality for everyday wear, then they will have furs that will trade well here. Warn them of the danger of slavers. Their women are... very desireable. But they should be aware of this."

"When do I leave, lord?"

"Why are you still here?"

"At once, lord," the man laughed.

Castor turned to Eloriel. "Tell him," he ordered.

As she began to babble excitedly at Shiro he turned to Aaja.

"Open your mouth," he commanded. Puzzled, she complied and he placed the switch in it. "You'll carry that until I tell you otherwise. Neglecting to tell me things has consequences. Take the bowls back to the kitchen." He glanced at Shiro's thin frame. "And bring back another bowl for your brother," he said, shaking his head ruefully.

"I'm going to go put clothing on," he declared.

Aaja listened as Castor told his servants what to do...they were going to bring back Shiro and her mother, to this house? She worried what her mother would think of her happily working as a sex slave. With great haste, she hurried to bring the bowls back to the kitchen, switch still in her mouth, she felt like a dog with a bone but refused to be humiliated when she knew she deserved this treatment. She motioned with her hands to the kitchen girl that she needed one of the bowls filled again. It took several tries, and the ladies laughed heartily at her but eventually they complied with her wishes and gave her the extra bowl of gruel for Shiro.

She brought the bowl back out, still carrying the switch in her mouth and she placed the bowl before her little brother. He took it greatfully and began to eat as Eloriel and he discussed Castor's plans. "Why would he want my mother and me brought back here? I refuse to have sex with this man." said Shiro between bites. "...and he better not hurt our mother or I'll kill him in his sleep." warned the boy.

Eloriel patted his shoulder and said, "No,no, I'm sure he wouldn't harm either of you. He cares very well for Aaja and me and he just wants to look after you, perhaps he'll put you to work, but you wouldn't have to be a sex slave, Shiro...I don't think so." she said, looking to Aaja for assurance. Aaja nodded her agreement with Eloriel.

Meliara

Meliara woke up to find herself alone. She shut her eyes again and recalled everything that had happened last night. Shivering from the memory, she rolled over and wrapped the blanket around her naked body. She wondered if Jason would come back.

Then she heard Miren's soothing voice from the other room. Meliara stayed quiet and listened to Miren discuss things with Jason. They were talking about her. Meliara was still reluctant to start her life as a slave. She remained in bed, deciding that she wasn't hungry. She was sick to her stomach with anxiety. She tried to fall back asleep to escape what was ahead of her.

Jason

I’ll see you at the midday meal,” he told Miren as he walked out of the door to inspect his charges and ensure that everything was going the way he wanted it to be.

Once outside he went straight to the kitchen area and spoke to the head slave there.

I want you to go immediately to my quarters and if need be drag the little elf out of bed then bring her back here,” he instructed. I want her to work here preparing the food she’ll eat her at midday with the rest of you but will return to my quarters before the evening meal,” he told her.

Having sorted Meliara’s day he went out to the selling area to see how things were going although there were plenty of buyers inspecting the slaves but nobody appeared to be buying at that time. Knowing that the market didn’t normally take off properly until after midday he wasn’t particularly worried and he could always send a couple out to Marcus on the farm. That reminded him that maybe he should pay a visit to the farm himself as long as Marcus had the K’zin under control it would be safe.

Castor dressed himself and then walked back down to the garden. Shiro was just finishing his food and regarded him suspiciously. He looked at Aaja, who looked down at the ground. He sighed and reached over to take the switch out of her mouth.

"The point has been made, I trust? You won't let your mouth get you into trouble again?" he asked.

"Good," he said in reply to her response. "Timasius will arrange for your mother to be brought her as fast as possible. If she can be treated, she will be. What she does when she is well is up to her. What Shiro does at that point is up to him. You and Eloriel, on the other hand, are slaves and will remain slaves. What you do at that point is up to me."

He wrinkled his nose. "One of you get Shiro cleaned up and the bowl back to the kitchen. The other will come with me."

He turned and walked out of the garden towards the foyer. He wasn't annoyed, really he had gotten over that, but he was pre-occupied with all the tasks that needed to be accomplished. Truth be told, though he was not looking forward to the work, he actually felt a little more... human. That was nice.

Aaja took a second to consider which of these things should be done by her, but since she wanted very much to get back in favor with Castor as soon as possible she asked Eloriel to look after Shiro for her...it was more appropriate anyway. He would certainly not be wanting his sister bathing him at his age. It would be embarrassing for the both of them, however, she gathered from his looks at her companion recently that he fancied her and since Eloriel wasn't related to him and he seemed to have a slight crush on her, Shiro would probably appreciate Eloriel's assistance much more than Aaja's.

El nodded and took the preteen by the hand, leading him inside to be washed up. She took his bowl as well to return it to the kitchen.

Aaja kissed her companion goodbye and patted Shiro's shoulder as they passed. She then hurried to catch up with Castor, bowing before him, uncertain what else to say to let him know how sorry she was.
