To Authors Published Elsewhere

I have purchased several stories published elsewhere by Literotica authors. Some are indistinguishable from their original Literotica versions. Most recently however, I bought one from Amazon that is no longer available among the author's Literotica listings. While her work published here is delightfully erotic, the Amazon story seems downright tame.

My question is this. Does Amazon require authors to tone down their work? If so, can I look to the alternate publishers for versions closer to Literotica's edge?

Or am I likely just imagining things, and Amazon is not exerting vanilla pressure at all?

No, Amazon doesn't require authors to tone down their work. Amazon has, however, in recent times, rejected Incest material. That's not quite the same thing.

I'm assuming I know which author you are talking about. If I'm right, she tamed down some of her own work by her own decision to get it back onto Amazon.

I have e-books on Amazon that make Incest look like a kiddie pool in terms of untamed sex. So, "sexual heat" isn't really the determination. Amazon has just determined not to deal in incest--if a customer points to it. (because I also have books with incest in them up at Amazon)

No Amazon is not vanilla I just posted a piece that got killed here for being too rough for BDSM so they'll take whatever you got.

Except for blatant incest. Foster and step are okay ro subtle incest. Underage I believe maybe off limits there as well.

That can happen, yes. I don't think that's the case in this example.

I don't think that Amazon will tell you to rewrite anything. They will either accept or reject. I don't think they will involve themselves in any analysis and negotiation on content.

Based on my experience of both publishing on Amazon and seeing some of the low quality things that other so called authors have published on Amazon this is my opinion.

Amazon will publish anything and everything until someone complains and then they will pull the book and/or tell you to change it.

Two of my stories were pulled for being too pornographic and not erotic enough.

I don't know much about them, but they sem to vast to be vetting e-books.

More likely than not someone flagged it. Meaning Amazon will yank your book over a complaint.

This is the type of trolling that makes the one bombs over here look like what they really are, meaningless. These people can cost you money.

Just because it's incest doesn't mean its hot, depends on the author. Incest isn't "banned" for heat, its banned for the taboo(and Amazons fraudelent moral posing)

Incest is allowed there if like you said non one has pointed it meaing either very few have bought the book, or you've been lucky with those who had. Or the incest can be very subtle.

And I highly doubt your heat level is that excessive, that's just you flattering yourself as alway, but I suppose someone has to.
