What do you play? what style? What is your setup?

I am a Guitar and Bass Player. My main guitar is an 07 fender Jimmie Vaughan strat. I love the single coil sound and the light weight of a strat compared to a les paul. I play it though a Bugera v5 tube amp when I need to be quiet, or a vintage fender musicmaster bass amp when loud. Effects are simple. A bit of reverb, a tube screamer, and a cry baby waa pedal

for acoustic work, I play a martin dm.

As for bass, I play a knockoff p bass though the musicmaster amp.

Ya I mostly play blues, with a little punk thrown in.

Heres an older picture. My studio area is much more organized now and the strat has a black pickguard instead of white

I play Turkish Darbuka ~ the largest "bass" one and it has a tambourine inside. I also play ceramic dumbek, riq, frame drums, and zills. We Raq out! Raqs sharqi is the Arabic name for what Americans refer to as bellydance.

Vocal cords.

It's one of my life's great fails that I have genuinely tried, taken classes and practiced like dammit, and I still can't passably play any musical instrument. Three cords at the campfire, at best.

Fancy! I don't have the rhythm or coordination for any kind of drum work. I can do a super basic beat and thats about it.

I'm still working on my voice. sometimes I like it sometimes I don't. Haven't figured out how to play and sing too well either

I'm pretty much a no talent. No matter how bad I wanted to play I never stuck to learning. I admire the folks who stick to the craft.

My latest thing to admire is Live from Daryl's House on Youtube such great talent.

Rhythm is part of every instrument and singing is fun as well. ROCK music comes from Raq (Rak) back beats. The kick beat on a trap set bass drum is the doom doom on a hand drum. A super basic beat is the most important and a great place to run to when things get too crazy.

I primarily play acoustic now. My main axe is a Cole Clark Fat Lady 3. It's an awesome guitar! I also have the Martin DM, in mahogany. It's a plunkier sound. I have a 67 Strat with a Mesa Boogie 100 watt amp. I thought about getting a Les Paul but I haven't found one that has the rigidity of sound that Fender seems to substain. Also, I'd really need to play more electric than I do now to even seriously think about the LP. It's ultimately a more expressive guitar and since I've never played lead, purely a toy for me to use it.

I also have a drum kit which you can sorta see on the left.

I have an accoustic/ elec too.

I am quite good at the skin flute too.

Ya the dm is mahogany with a spruce top. I used to put the red martin sp strings on it but they wore out too quick and were kind of dark. Now I use elixir n******s. They're a bit brighter and last a hell of a lot longer. Go coated strings!

In Sicilian we call a jaw harp a marranzano. They've been in our culture since at least 400AC but their history is older than that.

I'm sorry, but whoever told you that needs to be be shot with Phil Spector's gun.

I play the rock instruments, primarily guitar, but I can toss some workable bass out too. With a little warm up I can do simple beats and fills on a kit. Some old timers here are familiar with my singing voice. I have various musical doohickeys in my house, tambourines, a giant djembe, various shakers and drumsticks etc.

I've got a USA G&L Legacy for my Strat duty. I love this guitar. It speaks the truth. For my chunkier Les Paul type stuff I have a PRS SE Singlecut. I have this red Yamaha fretless bass that's a ball to play. My main acoustic is a Sigma dreadnought that belonged to my mother. That guitar went everywhere with me for years and years but it's an heirloom so I don't take it out of the house much anymore. I picked up this Washburn Rover for campfire songs. It's the best mini-guitar I've ever played, it's ten times the instrument the Martin Backpacker is (and it comes in Camo).

My only amp is a Roland Cube 80, it has the COSM emulation and a lot of effects built in. It's a perfect house amp. I have a few random pedals and a crybaby.

I'm all over the place with styles. I like to do covers of unlikely guitar songs like Brandy from Looking Glass or Phil Collins stuff... I do this way trippy arrangement of Shout by Tears for Fears. Lately I've been on an Iron Maiden tear and was bashing out Number of the Beast this morning. I do this fun punk cover of Summer of '69 too. (Try it, it's fun as shit.)
My original songs lean towards rock but have been moody affairs in years past.....these days I'm way into surf guitar or good heavy blues-based riffing. If I were pick who I wanted to write songs like I'd say Foo Fighters or 30 Seconds to Mars, newer Clutch, or the rootsier Pearl Jam stuff. What I actually end up turning out is something else entirely. I'm working with a friend on a musical project now and songs are taking shape, he brings funk and syncopation to the table, so who knows? When they come together more I'll put some of the material here.

Oh, and I play DR Black Beauties on all the electrics, greatest strings ever.
