Hubby showed me a very funny graph in the Wall Street Journal this morning. Apparently if you have TiVo, you can volunteer to have your usage monitored for research purposes--that's just a tad scary, but leaving that aside--and the company charted usage of those machines during the Super Bowl.
After the farting horse commercial, the graph spiked about 200% compared to what it had been averaging during the game and other commercials. In other words, a lot of people decided to rewind and watch that commercial again, which created a distinct jump. After Janet Jackson lost her top, the graph spiked nearly off the chart.
