ok, my last thread for this sort of fell apart, the two girls posting sort of lost interest...so, i'm starting it over...

the setting is basically this...after fighting crime as a team for a while, Raven decides she wants to try to live a normal life. to that end, she moves out of the tower and into a house on the outskirts of the city. my character will be answering an ad for a roommate (if we get someone playing Starfire, she'll have moved out with Raven)

Jack Sparx walked slowly up to a house, studying an advertisement in the newspaper. The advertisement was for a roommate to share living expenses with two other people, and as he looked up, he found the house to be very nice. He wondered briefly what his new roommates would be like, and how much rent would be. He could cover it, but he wanted to make sure he wasn't overstretching his account. He had a lot of stuff to move in, and quite a bit of money would be needed to pay for it. But at least the place looked about big enough. He hoped his roommates would be friendly, and he wondered why there was a big raven emblem on one side of the door, and a big green star on the other.

He walked up to the door slowly, and knocked. He waited several minutes, then knocked again, before leaning against the door. He was startled and fell backwards when the door opened on him.

OOC: this is open to one or two women, please

OOC2: this will also have an accompanying thread for the remainder of the team still fighting crime...i won't be posting in that one, except maybe as a villain.

Titans--No Longer Teens OOC thread

Raven sighed as she heard a knock on the door. She was amazed she heard it all the way from her bedroom with her door looked. Even though it was mid morning, she had just fallen asleep cause she worked the overnight hours at a cafe and slept during most of the day. She pulled on the jeans she wore the night before and a baggy t-shirt. She ditched the one piece leotard and cloak in exchange for more normal clothes, since moving out of Titans Tower. She cursed under her breath.

"Dam mornings. Should have put in the ad to wait to contact until mid-afternoon.

It had been six months since she decided to quit being a Teen Titan, for couple reasons. First she was no longer a teenager anymore. She was a young adult at the age of 21 and didn't find the aspect of fighting crime appealing anymore. So she set out on her own in purse of a normal life, at least it started that way. She actually ended up taking in one of her former team mates, Starfire because after from what Starfire told her about Robin or as he was calling himself now, Nightwing cheating on her with Batgirl, so Starfire quit the Titans and set on her own. Raven knew Starfire would have a difficult time one her own so Raven decided let her live with her. Even though Raven was able to help Star get a job at the mall and her job at the late night cafe, they still barely enough money for expensisves and to basicly live off of, so the reason for the ad. Raven opened the door and addressed the man infront of her.

"You here for the ad?"

Jack blinked, looking up into the stunning violet eyes of a woman with gorgeous ravenblack hair. He had to stop and think for a few minutes, before realizing she was talking to him. He got up slowly, dusted himself off, and nodded. "Yeah. I read you had a place to stay. I'm moving back here, and needed a place to stay. I can pay in advance, if you want." He looked out to his truck, and then back at her. "I can move all my stuff in too. I shouldn't need too much help. I'm Jack, by the way. Jack Sparx. Can I ask your name, pretty lady?"

Raven yawned, and stretched and was quiet suprised to see him eager to move in already even though she didn't show it. She introduced herself and let him in.

"The name is Raven, just Raven. Wouldn't you like a tour first before you decide you want to live her and I've got some questions before letting you stay if you don't mind. But first the tour."

She first showed him the living room, which wasn't much, bare walls, a second hand couch, and a small TV/DVD combo sitting on a crate with some DVDs from a mail in place on the floor. Then she took him to the kitchen which was a mess from another of Star's cooking escapades. The cuppurds were bare, the stove was covered with Tamerian cooking, their dinning table was nothing more than a card table. The sink was full of dishes for they had no dishwasher, and the fridge was full of Tamerain ingredents. Next Raven Showed Jack the bathroom, nothing speacil. Then the came to two doors, one had a black raven on it, the other the green star. Raven told him this was the bedrooms and pointed to the door with the raven on it.

"This is my room. NO ONE goes into my room without permission. UNDERSTOOD?"

Then she took and showed him a baren room which she told him could be his room. Then she took him back to the living room and sat him down and begain to ask him a bunch of questions, to get a better feel for him.

Raven-"How do you feel about living with two females?
Have you had a criminal record before?
Do you have a job?
How much you feel confortable contributing to monthly expensisnes?
Do you belive paranormal such as demons, aliens and such?
Are you a relgious or spiritaul person?
Do you respect other people's cultures, no matter how bizaire they may seem?
Are you an adventourus eater?
Do you respect peoples privacy?
How familier are you with Jump City itself?
How familier are you with Jump City's urben legends?"

She asked these questions to see if he could be trusted to live with Star and herself, she wanted to see how secrative they had to been of who they truly are, cause She wasn't sure if anyone would 100% accept them if they were out in the open with who they are and there powers and such.

Jack smiled, following her as she showed him around the house. He saw the dishes and cupboards, and raised an eyebrow. Then he followed her through the rest of the house, studying each area intently. He had the solution to their tv, since he had a bigscreen in the trailer behind his truck. He made a mental note when Raven mentioned no one going into her room without permission. Then she led him back downstairs, and fired questions at him faster than a P90 shot bullets. He grinned, then thought carefully over each question. He had a photographic memory, so he hadn't missed any questions.

"I don't mind. I had six sisters growing up. Two girls will be no problem. As for a criminal record, just a little mischief growing up, nothing serious. Um...You could say I have a job. Of course, most people would consider me a slacker when they found out what it was. How much do you need? I swear my youngest sister is a devil given human form, and of course there are aliens. Now, GODS would be something I'd have trouble believing in. I'm Taoist, so religion is sort of odd for me. As for eating...well, I'm good at cooking, but I can eat anything but mushrooms. You won't need to worry about me respecting your privacy, I pretty much keep to myself. I grew up here, but I've just moved back from Steel City. As for Urban Legends, I've seen some interesting things in my life."

Raven nodded and seemed pleased with his responses, and thought he would be an acceptable room mate and was sure Star would agree. She shook his hand and replied to him.

Raven-" Well you sound like a reasonible person. So how soon can you move in. And for cost we'll figured that out at the end of the month when bills come due. If you need anything, I'll be in my room catching up on some sleep cause I work late night early morning. So if need anything, knock on my door."

She leaves Jack in the living room to do whatever as Shhe goes back to her room and crawls under the covers.

Jack smiled, feeling how soft her hands were. In an instant, however, she had hurried up to her room. He shrugged, then went outside, propping the door open. He'd be able to move most of his stuff inside himself, but there were a few items that would need someone else to help. He couldn't really ask her, since it would make him look like a bad roommate. Then again, she seemed nice enough about it. As he was thinking this, and unloading boxes to carry inside, he spotted a hot redhead walking in his direction. He watched her, shading his eyes.

Starfire arrived back at the home she shared with Raven in a decidedly unpleasant mood, she had been ordered home by her employer because of an altercation with a customer that had been in no way her fault. The man had seemed friendly enough at first, complimenting her on how she looked in her outfit, she was still unclear how it would have looked better on his floor however. But that wasn't what had caused the problem he....

Lost in her own thoughts Starfire walked right into Jack before noticing him, "Oh Hello! I'm sorry, I was not watching where I was going, I..." She stopped speaking as she seen what he was doing, the door open and he seemed to be loading things inside. Star's green eyes opened wide, forgetting her need to keep her powers a general secret she floated into the air and zoomed into the house, "RAVEN!! RAVEN!" She shouted flying through the house till she was at the other girls room, knocking loudly she started yelling again, "Raven, what has happened, have we been late with the payments? Or did we do something wrong? Have we lost our home?" She shouted still knocking urgently on Ravens' door.

Raven groaned again as she was awaken by Starfire this time. She thought Star knew better than to wake her, but then she looked at the clock thinking Star was home way too early. She was too tired to be angery. She finaly was concious enough to make out what she was yelling and opened her door, with an annoyed look on her face. Raven step out of her room and closed her door behind her.

Raven-" Starfire, calm down. We aren't being evicted. Remeber I said I put an ad in the paper for a room mate becuase we barely make enough money to live off of and meet expenisce, well he answered the ad and is moving in. His name is Jack. By the way, why are you home so early?"

Raven stood waiting for Star to answer.

Jack raised an eyebrow, watching the redhead float into the house at high speed. He shook his head, then shrugged, and started carrying boxes into the house and up the stairs. He had a lot of stuff, but most of it wouldn't take long. The real fun would be his collection of melee weapons. Those he'd have to find someplace to display. He walked past the redhead and Raven, and set the boxes down in his room.

While Raven waited for Starfire to give her a reply to why shes home so early, Jack was busy carring boxes into his room. When he was coming back, Raven stopped him so Star and him could get properly introduced to each other.

Raven-" Jack, this is my room mate Starfire. Starfire this is Jack, he'll be our new room mate to help cover expenisces."

Raven leans over and whispers into Jack's ear, hoping he would buy a quick lie about Star's name.

Raven to Jack-" Don't ask Starfire about her name, her parents were major hippies."

She hoped he believed her cause wasn't quiet sure he was ready to learn that he was rooming with a half-demon and an alien. Then in a effort to show trust Raven suggested that they help Jack finish unpacking.

Looks like I won't be getting any sleep today, why don't we finish getting Jack moved in.

Star's face was on the verge of tears when Raven opened the door, but the other girls quick explaination of the situation brought back Starfire's normally happy-go-lucky attitude. "Oh thank goodness!" She said gratefully as Jack came by with some of his things, "So this is our new friend? Jack? I am Starfire, my friends call me Star. It is glorious to meet you!" She almost fell back into her old habit of hugging new friends, but managed to remember to restrain herself and just reached out to shake his hand.

Then she remembered the question Raven asked, "Well Mr. Richards said I should take the rest of the day off after I fought off an assailant who was pretending to be a customer. Mr. Richards said he wasn't attacking me but he hit me with an open palmed strike to just beneth my spine, I was defending myself." She said with a pout. "Yes we should help our new friend move in I would love to hear more about you Jack."

Jack raised an eyebrow, then smiled and nodded. "I've got a bigscreen TV in the trailer, and some other furniture. My bed is a futon, I haven't put it together yet. I just moved back, and wanted to go as light as possible. The furniture I did bring with me is an entertainment center, a desk, and a couple of heirlooms." He had been amazed to see how soft Starfire's hands had been, considering how she had described what had happened to her that day.

Raven looked at all the furniture had yet to move in and wondered if it was all going to fit into their house. Then she went over to Star and whispered into her ear.

"I know you can get all of this by youself, but allow him to help you, so we to appear normal."

While Jack and Star carried the heavy things in, Raven carried in the lighter boxes, and happed to come across his box of weapons. She first didn't know what to think. At first she thought it was a bad idea after all to let him move in, who knows what type of person he was if had these. But then she thought they might the repilcas sold at the mall that looked and felt real, but were as sharp as a butter knife. Raven thought that if he was a pyshco path, that she and Star could handle him. She just left them there and started carring other things into his room.

Star was just about to go and lift the T.V. herself when Raven uttered her warning, "Right! Almost forgot.....Um Raven...He MIGHT have seen me fly in the house...Maybe." She whispered back as she trotted up beside Jack, "So my friend you must tell me all about yourself, Why are you in the city? Where do you come from? You will be with us for sometime yes?" She asked him excitedly helping with his things her mood much improved now that she had someone to talk to.

Jack raised an eyebrow, then smiled. "I'm back in town to stay. I came back because I wanted to get away from where I was before. No reason to stay there anymore. So I packed up most of my stuff, my weapons collection, my games, clothes, tv, and stuff, and moved back here. Speaking of which, I'm going to need a place to keep my collection."

As Jake mentions his weapon collection. Raven walks beside him and ask.

They're just for show right? Their not sharp enough to be considered leathal are they?"

Jack raised an eyebrow, then shrugged. "Dunno, never tried. Most of them are antique, some are replicas, and the rest are custom made to look good and be functional. I haven't had a reason to use them since I got them though. Probably best to keep them in glass display cases. Also, the bigscreen should be out here in the living room."

Listening to Jack's assurance that he was here to stay Starfire's eyes lit up, "Oh good, I hope you will enjoy staying with us and stay a long time." She gushed happily, carrying a box inside ahead of the other two listening as they finished speaking, not really understanding Raven's concern. On Tamaran families proudly displayed weapon's collections, even in Titan's Tower it was not odd to find various combat tools on hand and underfoot especially in Robin's Room......At that thought her current mood again plummetted, the last time she'd been in Robin's room was why she had left the team. The image of Robin and Batgirl, doing that still burned into her mind and still it effected her emotionally as tears suddenly appeared in her eyes, "I..I am sorry, I need to....Go..Excuse me!" She blurted setting down the box and running out of the room wiping at her eyes, throwing open the door to her room she ran in and dove onto the bed burying her face in her pillow.

Raven watched Starfire, as she went from happy to sad just like that. She watched her enter her room closing door behind her. Raven wasn't quiet sure what was bothing Star, she had a good idea but not completly sure. Even though it seemed like Raven never showed compasion, she never liked to see her friends suffer. Raven could have tapped into Star's mind with her powers, but didn't feel like doing that unless She felt something was terribly wrong with Starfire. Raven just knocked on her door and said.

Raven-" Star, if you need someone to talk to, you know you can alway talk to me."

Jack raised an eyebrow, watching the redhead go from sheer joy to total depression. He considered for a moment, then felt he had to ask. "The only time I've ever seen a girl do that before is if they got dumped. Is she okay?" His voice carried through the door, even though he was standing a few feet away from the door. "Of course, anyone that would dump her would need to have their head examined."

Starfire rolled over in her bed at the words of her friends, "Thank you Raven, your concern is appreciated and perhaps we can talk, but later please I just need to be alone for a moment. Then I will come out and rejoin you and Jack." She said clutching her pillow tight, it was comforting to hear the concern in Raven's voice, many who spoke with her even their friends often mistook her from normal attitude that she was cold or indifferent, but Starfire knew from being around her for so long that she just didn't show her feelings as openly as others, but they were there always just hinting beneth the surface. "I'm sorry Jack! I know I said I would assist you in bringing in your things but I cannot just now, please allow me to make it up to you later!" She shouted in response to his barely heard comments.

Raven motioned to Jack that Starfire just needed her space for now.

Raven-" I think Star just wants to be left alone, lets finish moving you in."

Once outside and they were about to attempt moving in the big screen Raven let Jack in on she thought Starfire's sadness was about.

Raven-" You're right Jack, Starfire is still upset over a guy. You see six months ago, Star walked in on her boyfriend, who ironicly was named Dick, cheating on her, with a girl they both claimed to be just friends. This was devistating to Star, for she truly cared for and truly loved Dick. She had one day hoped to marry him, but once she walked in on him with another woman, she couldn't take it. She instantly moved out his place and I volunteered to let her stay with me, cause her home is extremly far away. So if you're around Star try not to mention the name Dick, or even Robin. Robin was his nickname."

Jack followed Raven outside, and then raised an eyebrow at her explanation. He made a mental note to remember that, and then turned his attention to the tv. He thought for a moment, then looked at her. "You sure you'll be okay helping me with this thing?"
