Tis the season, for football!

Friday night under the lights here locally this week. College week after next. Pro ball in a few weeks.

From what I've read the Falcons should be better.

However, the Dawgs are a big question mark. New 3-4 defense and a redshirt freshman QB backed up by a true freshman. And the only QB to have taken a snap is now a wide receiver. But the line is better and the tailbacks are back. So we'll see.

And Alabama and Florida. Might as well pencil in the winner of that sec championship game into the national championship again.

By default I'm a Detroit Lion fan now. One thing about Stafford, he got a lot better every year. It wouldn't surprise me if they were competitive in a few short years.

WD, are you going to do the NCAA pool again? I'm still willin' to do NFL, unless you'd like to do both...

Thats the one problem for me.. I can follow NFL and do the pool for that, but its hard to keep up with the college one too so I have to leave that.

My pick for this year was gonna be the Ravens, but with a few injury worries I'm not so sure now..

Oh I've been jonesing for the start of football season since February; I'm so excited it's finally here!

I thought the Dawgs looked pretty solid this past week and the defense seems to be making the transition from the 4-3 pretty well. This weekend though will be the test.

Being both a UGA and Nebraska fan, I'm a default Lions fan now as well. I'm having to catch up on my reading about them so I can be prepared for this year. Hopefully though Suh will be the defensive boost they need to at least not be dreadful this year.

My brother lives in Gainesville and has been a fanatic Gator fan for decades. He dressed his kids in Gator gear from birth. The ultimate revenge for his angsty late teen daughter? She's a cheerleader for the Seminoles this year... :D

Go Seminoles...

I don't care about football, but I am amused that my Gamecocks beat Ole Miss.

For some reason, I read the bolded portion as "frantic Gator fan" - not once, but twice.

And yes, "Go 'Noles!"
