Tired of the idiots of hiding behind AOL

OK You all know how they get by with it.

AOL does not asign a specific ISP to thier users, they asign it when they log in. That means each time they do they get a new idenity.

This is why when it gets to bad the CMs must ban all of AOL not just the one person.

Now AOL can if they want use the combination of the ISP # the CMs give them and the time the persone was here. And sence they say they do not allow bad behvior they should ban that personm themselves from using the net, but of course this means lost revinue. Plus it's not thier chat room so what do they care.

So I worked up a letter / E-Mail to send

Read it . . . . Re-right it . . . . send it to them.

I wish to complain about the fact that you will not work with oiur chat
monitors at http://www.literotica.com/ in banning one specific individual.

This is one of the reasons I left your company long ago. Your use of a
non-assigned ISP does nothing but encourage immature behavor, becouse
the perp knows there is little that you will do against him.

I realize that while it's not your policy to encourage such behavior
your lack of stopping it lets it continue.

My only recourse as a consumer is to discourage my friends from ever using
AOL as a internet carrier becouse I notice the only way to stop this
behavior in the places I chat is to Ban ALL AOL users. This is not fair
to the chatters who do behave.

Find a dial up ISP that doesn't use dynamic IP#. I'm sure there might be a few, but not many.

And why would AOL care if a CM somewhere can't control a chatter or two? I'm thinking the staggering corporate behemoth that is AOL Time/Warner has just an issue or two that's a wee bit more important at this time.

I think you would've been better of spending your time counting to 10, or maybe drinking a beer or a glass of wine, or maybe just engaging in a nice long primal scream.

Each time I connect to the net via my dial up modem.. I get a different ISP number.. and I don't use AOL.

Oh, I can understand you're difficulty. I know what it's like to have the occasional nut fucking up your website. But the problem with that is that if someone wants to get in they'll get in. Getting them banned of AOL won't make a difference. If I got kicked off my ISP I'd be up and running on another in less than 5 minutes and it wouldn't cost me a penny.

Banning people just doesn't work. Not if they REALLY want access. The Net is just too big and there's just too many ways to access it.

I don't understand why they have to ban all aol users.. Can't they just instruct the offended parties to redline the offender? Then no one has to see or talk to him/her. Seems like the moniters could handle this easily by instructing all the room users to use the edit options available without banning all users of a huge ISP.

OK instead of just Bitching I guess I got an idea that will help a little on this end, but I don't know whom to tell or where to post it.

If they would just cange the font so that the capital letter "i" doesn't look like the lowwer case "L" it would help a lot ( watch the #1 though) the Letter "O" and the #0 and so on.

At least we will know that we are talking to the person we think it is.
