I'm sure they will. They've been reshowing the previous night's each night before the next episode and running the current episodes back to back.

YES! And loving it!

the steam punk kind of technology and magic mix, the grittier rougher kind of other world that OZ cold be. And Zooey Deschanel is so hot... and ... kathleen RObertson ...... SCHWING!

Plus Alan cumming is such a great actor!

Absolutley great mini-series!

I found it an interesting twist that DG discovered she had a part in why her sister became so evil.

They are going to replay it Sunday according to the adverstisement at the end of the episode tonight.

I watched it and found it to be interesting and entertaining.

An interesting twist on the old story.

It would have been nice if they had followed through a bit more on the ending.

Watched it... I'm 'Ehhish' about it.

As a 'play' on the Wizard of Oz... I have to go with Wicked being MUCH better done.

I think this would have better if Showtime had done it as a Dark Vision of Oz.

Raw -- The 'Sensitive' Lion was getting on my last nerve.

Askadilia SMOKED!!!!

The ending needed more, so much more. I'm wondering if they left it hanging because they are thinking of making it a series or if the writers just got tired and stopped. I agree it would have been better done on Showtime and edgier (Kathleen Robertson in sexier costumes *swoon* or more like Todd McFarlane's Dark Vision of Oz if that is what elsol is referring to ) but even as is I'd call it well done except for the ending. WTF is up with hollywood endings lately?

Oooooo sounds interesting
Wonder if we will get it in aus....

I'be been avoiding it. I can count the Sci-Fi channel productions that I have liked on one hand.

Then again, I also haven't been around the TV much lately.

Is anybody else watching this Sci-Fi Channel mini-series?

I would if I had that channel. Even though I've been hearing some reviews that have had a low opinion of the production, overall I'd say the reviews were mixed and that always makes me want to see something and make up my own mind about it.

And it's OZ! I would try to watch almost anything dealing with Oz if I had the chance. (I'd really like to have someone try and work an adaptation of some of the others stories in the series, not just Baum's either.

I have to agree on the "eh." Cummings was the best thing in it, but then, it's hard to screw up the "scarecrow," or mess up that good an actor. He had the best character in all respects, and the best lines.

In the end, nothing came to much; it was often predictable down to the line, with only the Oz references being much fun. Without them, I don't know that this show would have been seen as anything other than a not-so-good generic fantasy. The heroes (of light!) come across, to me, as far too passive and victimized. I got really tired of it, almost pissed off. I kept saying, "Can these people DO something other than running away, being spied on or being caught?" I hate heroes who are purely reactive rather than active. The villainess (of dark!) was equally boring. Darth Vader knock-off. She wants "eternal darkness"? Um, okay...why?

And worst of all, OZ was boring! Yikes. Some nice eye candy, but no "magic" to the place. I mean, my gosh, in the original Wizard of Oz movie I had a good idea of what Munchkinland and the Emerald City were like, not just in looks, dress, decorum but in character. I got none of that here, not from any place these folk visited. Part of the problem, of course, is cost. You can really see the budget limitations--what they decide to spend their limited money on and what they decided to go cheap on to save money for something else. Those decisions were, IMHO, rarely good ones.

It really says something when a 1939, two-hour musical has more charm, heart, personality, character development, magical setting, intriguing plot, etc. than a 6 hour mini-series (we'll presume 4 hours if you edit out commercials). All in all, I got the feeling that the Sci-Fi channel bit off more than they could chew--or really afford, forcing them to simplify or make generic elements that ought to have been more interesting and complex. I saw a lot of promise, but nothing, outside of Cummings character, that ever paid off.

I especially agree with Elsol and 3113. I probably watched two-thirds of it, felt it could have been edited nearly in half. Most of the time I knew nearly exactly what the next line was going to be (very simplistic scriptwriting). I love Cummings and Deschanel, such disparate voices in real life. (I read a review wherein Deschanel's voice was described as 'so flat you could set up a lounge chair on it'. Perfect.) Raw also got on my nerves, and the actress who played the mother did not move me at all. Mostly I liked the idea that a teenager who felt she didn't belong, etc., found out she really didn't belong! Great premise, but not so interesting afterward.

Bonus for some: see The Evelyn Dick Story (or something like that title) for a great performance by the evil sister actress; also a very interesting crime story in itself.
