Hi,
Has none noticed a dramatic change what time of day stories are released or was what happened to mr today a strange blip...

I checked at ten eastern before I left and my new story pet teacher was not released and figured it would be one more day...yet when I got home at 5 eastern it was up but had almost no reads...it has since got 500 an hour...clearly my story wasn't released till the afternoon, a full 1/2 later than when stories used to be released..

Usually, I don't pay attention to when stories r released, but it has always been before I wake up at 9 eastern time...

Has this happened to others, or just me?

Thanks

The time of day a story shows up in the New list has steadily become more erratic over the last year - maybe a little longer.

Fortunately, the ones that run that late are few and far between.

Unfortunately, that means that if you're one of the unlucky ones, you're going to lose a lot of exposure for that story. It will probably end up being about a quarter of a day ( maybe more if your story was low on the New list )

In the case of the other late releases ( up to 10 am as you suggest here ) you regain the exposure time you lost on one day the next day when the new stories don't pop up until late in the morning.

I realize Laurel is trying to catch up and get back near the 3 day approval period we'd all grown used to, but those afternoon releases are real killers. I'd much rather see anything after 10 am shifted to the next day. You just lose way too much critical exposure.

I agree...and yet the last time it happened to me (this is only the second time) there was no response and the following day the new stories were about way earlier...

All I want is fairness...and never releasing a story that late...wait till the next day then...

That said, I know they work hard to maintain the growing site...so in the end wht do you do?

It used to be if I looked at my CP and saw a story or poem with a release date of the following day, I knew it would be released at 9PM, Pacific Time that night. Now, I never can tell. That doesn't bother me as much as it seems to both some of you.

Then you've never had a story come out in the middle of the afternoon, Box.

Losing a half day of exposure - especially if it was a story you were really anticipating the response to - is a major letdown.

Yep, it gets buried somewhere in the middle of the list and it's lost most of its "new" value. Very deflating.
