Yep. Bout time we put our money where our mouths are and start writing this story! OK. Fellow winners... I shall start the ball rolling with a few suggestions I've been with toying with.

IDEA 1:
A cross over or "our" world with another fantasy land. Exploring myth and legend of this world and connecting it to another made up land. The idea is that there is a few people in this world that have the Sight of seeing portals... and these portals lead to places. (I wrote my short story about this one.)

IDEA 2:
I think the King and Country storyline kicks the proverbial... how about we re-write that into something that would make litary agents begging for us to be signed on their books... hopefully.

IDEA 3:
A short story anthology. Nuff said on the matter...

IDEA 4:
An Inquisition-type story set ina fnatasy land, where magick is feared instead of revered... no, nothing like X-men, OK?

Well, that's just a few.

What's This???

You mean to tell me you people haven't started yet?

*tapping foot impatiently*

Since it had been so quiet from you 4, I just assumed the ether was being filled with electronic missives, flitting back and forth, this way and that, between all of your respective emailboxes....another dashed vision *sigh*

LOL

Havoc

BTW Lady_A, nice suggestions there...personally #4 intrigues me the most, but that's just me

ohhhh... Havoc tapped his foot at us!!!

Hey there Havoc

AS it happens... we had started... emailing that is... just that i was awaiting M'Lady Aline's email addy... which i now have...

We'll try to keep you in the loop as well so you don't go off tapping your foot sore at us...

[cheeky winks]

Money

PS... i won... i won... i won!!!... [little yippee jolly jig]

??? Assuming I'm know less than I appear to know, WTF is going on?

I, if allowed to say my opinion, would think that for your first essay you could just rewrite the King and Country storyline, that way you have some 'background' to work on, which is easier.

Some parts would need more rewriting than others, of course.

And then, if it gets published and you wins a lot of cash, I'll demand you for stealing my idea and I'll get all your money and you'll have to work for me the rest of your lives... mua ha ha ha ha!!!!

laughin' at Sith... oh my goodness!... you do that evil thing so well... [winks]

i say we throw caution to the winds and steal Sith's idea anyway... we'll drag him through the courts if need be... [sinister giggle]... ooops... that didn't come out right...

[luaghter]

I will be the one dragging you all on court, people... I'll use OJs lawyer, as he can prove anything, you are doomed!

(now seriously, only the begining was mine, it is now everyone's idea)

I have found that the best fantasy books come in series, or chapters. You might want to actually have all four ideas as part of one big story, maybe of the King and Country team, and their adventures in wherever, or something. It's just another thought, well whatever you decide.

Hey sorry it took me so long to reply, busy week at work. Maybe we could start the process by deciding on a story line. I dont' know the King And Country story line so I would have to catch up, but the idea of magicians being feared and persecuted intrigues me greatly. I could definately do some damage there <hehe>. But seriously, maybe one of us could also serve as editor and artistic director, once the story line is picked. Huh, how about it?

You know how to reach me.

Mages feared and persecuted as witches and charlitans. Sounds like the seeker era in the Dragonlance saga, when there were no true clerics in the land, and wizards were blamed by the false clerics for the pestilance and famine spread around the world.

Aline, I love your first idea. am currently writing a novel about something similar. Only difference is that it's not on our world, and there are no portals <g>. I love fantasy, and maybe we could work in a little bit of romance. <g> sorry I'm a sucker for romances. <g>
<dang it, tried to put a smilie here and it just didn't work. <pout> >

Hey everyone, I am just curious how far along you guys are? Is there an outline? Main character? evil villan (50 foot pooh bear, strikes fear into the hearts of anyone over 6)
I would love to be an editor or an outside reporter, a groupie, something, if it is all right.
Hey a few people have asked about stories that we submitted, I still have mine, if you would like it, just e mail me, I sill send you a copy. Free of charge.
I am still in my doing it for the art stage, lol, when will I learn. Thanks all.

The King and Country storyline it is! Sith, PROMISE you won't sue us? *chuckles nervously*
Ah. Now we have reached a nasty, horrid number of our happy equation. Who will have the main lead? The characters I would like to include (Indigo, Patrician and Varden... I have more to do on that character) are very secondary, but Pierce... OK, so he's gay. Who cares? Why do Princes have to be straight types that rescue fair maidens and all such malarky? I think he's a great anti-hero.
BUT, there is another way we can work round this. Everyone writes a chapter or "section" of the story in one person narrative, so instead of:

Vixen strode to Pierce, her face full of concern.

It would be:

I walked to the boy. He looked vunerable, but he did his best not to show it.

Or:

She walked to me, and I looked away, embarrased at my emotions. I did not want sympathy. I wanted exceptance for who I was -I am.

And maybe:

I watched assassin and prince together. How odd that such disimilar characters would become firm friends.

So then we all get a fair crack of the whip. Good idea?

Hey everyone. How are all the people from the four corners of the earth. I just want to know what it going on with the book so far? It s been a few weeks, actually 2 weeks. Wanting to know what everyone has. Sith and I would still like to be creative consultants, or editors, or lackies, you know whatever is good for you.
Anyway, just wanted to make sure all was well, and give you my best in writing the great american novel.
Gary
