Time to bring back per diem for Congress?

Congress used to be paid under a per diem (per day) system. What are the chances that if they resumed this, they wouldn't be in recess nearly that much?

Provide a basic office and sleeping accommodations in a dorm like facility in DC. No frills.

Our Senate may be unrepresentative, unelected and rife with politicos feeding from the trough. But I will take our version of Westminster Parliamentary system of government any day over the broken, divided and entitled system down south.

There is a head of state with 60 years of uninterrupted service to her country that could help fix your system with an imperious wave of her hand. Bloody stupid splitting executive, legislative and executive powers. Wasteful and redundant. Lots of savings to be had by getting rid of probably a third of your bureaucracy.

But like the 2nd amendment which although kills thousands of Americans a year, I doubt you can be convinced to rid yourself of the ridiculous system of government you have now. Regardless of it's cost and inefficiencies.

I'm sure France and Italy look up to your system of government though.

It really is, but as much as we need to start spreading the power we also have to get this Hate-on for rich people to go away (it's been four months, consult a doctor) because we are more interested in fucking them then helping ourselves. A great bit being one of the Hillary/Bernie debates when Hillary brought up that Trump's kids shouldn't get free college. Unless "free college" also includes "free trade school" (which I assume it does, but I wish it would be stressed more), I'm not on board with that Bernie proposal myself. We have far too many young people going to college now and not enough going into the trades. I don't agree on encouraging going to college just to see many of them having to double back and learn the useful service trade that they were more suited for in the first place--and that society needs more than it needs more McDonald's workers with four-year college degrees hanging on their walls earned in four years of partying. If the federal government is going to get more into paying the bill, I think it should be more involved in determining which school for a kid that it's going to pay for.

USDA is giving me 170k for more greenhouses this year! So that's an up because I'm minority and filled out paperwork.

And the composting facility proposal is looking even better. Californians are going to let me use their land, buy me equipment, FORCE PEOPLE TO PAY ME to take their green waste and then I get to sell the compost back to them at a premium price because certified organic.

LMFAO! and that's just a waste facility!

I can't imagine the scamming they have going on in the medical/defense/banking industries...but they are there I'm sure of it.
