That's what happens when you have a "president" who doesn't want to hear the truth and is known to fire people who disagree with him.

After Trump made his stupid predictions about how the virus would progress in the U.S.A., the experts were effectively muzzled and had to walk a fine line between keeping the public safe and not pissing off the petulant child occupying the Oval Office.

They tried, bless their hearts, but you could see it on their faces at the coronavirus task force briefings. The looks they gave the president every time he said something ignorant did help separate what should be listened to and what should be ignored.

The more intelligent people in the country knew Trump was full of shit and didn't listen to a word he said. Smart people listened when the experts said Covid was serious and that they didn't know exactly how it spread or how to treat it, and that once more information became available things could change. It's called adaptation. Of course that would require flexibility of thought, and for some people that's hard. I'm guessing that's why you're struggling.
