Time catches up even on Greats

An interesting story. It would have been even more interesting if I could have found out how old Kostya was.

It amazes me that Hatton is so lightly regarded in the US. For me, he's the real deeal and undoubtedly the best fighter in that class.

I thought the fight was closer to the score.

Hatton has been significantly better and that low blow REALLY looked liked it took it out of Kostya.

Everything in the fight seemed to favor Hatton... the time, the locations, andt he timing Kostya had fought 9 rounds in the last two years.

I believe the fight was more about Kostya's mistakes than Hatton's fighting.

The good part is if there is a rematch Hatton will be the champ and fully confident, and Kostya will be hungry.

THAT will be a great rematch.

Other than that it was a fairly ugly fight.

Sincerely,
ElSol

Sorry, I didn't hear about it and I certainly didn't watch it. I don't watch any of the fighting on TV anymore. If I really want to see a couple of guys beat the crap ou of each other I'll go downtown at closing time and watch the fights outside the bars.

Thirty four, I think.

About halfway down...

The Briton took the first two rounds but his frenetic work began to backfire and the 35-year-old Tszyu threw the more quality punches, including some good left hooks, in the next few rounds.

Unfortunately in the states, if you don't hold one of the "Big Three" belts, most are regarded as throwaway titles adn the WBU is one of the "Minor League" bodies. Sadly, I haven't watched boxing in so very long. Outside of amature fights or some action in the lighter weight classes of guys just out there to compete, most professional boxing has lost it's appeal to me. Part of the reason I stopped.

That, and the fact that I would never amount to much as a fighter.

Quite true.

I read Riddick Bow is going to court to regain his boxing license at the age of 37, after going AWOL from the Marines with in a week of joining, after he kidnapped his ex and kids and doing 18 months in shitcan.

Tyson vs Bow, anyone?
