Since you've been such a great Lit citizen, I thought I'd create your own little thread where you can interact with all of us on any topic you choose. You had the Super Bowl Thread, then the Olympics and have been keeping us all up to date on what's going in the world of sports. I know that you're interested in lots of other things too so I didn't want to limit this to just sports.

The Olympics are ending tonight and I thought it would be good to have a place to come and "visit" with you once the games were over and I know there are a lot of other people that feel the same way too.

Cheers. Here's a rose to put on your "broadcast center" desk.

I think I'm going to cry!

WOW!

A thread just for me!

I think I'm going to cry! :)

LovetoGiveRoses.......I think that is the sweetest thing that
has happened to me on Lit so far.....being recognized for
keeping the "Lit Public" informed.....not easy to keep up
the threads, but I was able to do it even with my crazy hours
at work (and away from my computer!).

Do I get an Emmy or a gold medal? :D

Thank you again for kickstarting this for me......

And I think the biggest thank you goes to everyone who has
seen and/or posted to the Super Bowl and Olympic threads!
Current events is important......but I get so enthusiastic over
the Olympics that I have to share it with everyone, and topics
such as the judging scandal get people talking.

Thank you! :rose:

And for the wrapup of the 2002 Winter Olympics, a special gold medal for Tigerjen, our intrepid sportswoman!!!! Yeh.

Working today or tonight? Anything in the news today strike your fancy?

Tigress I enjoyed reading your threads and keeping up on all the sports news. I think a lot of people did. So I hope this one goes even better for you;)

Todd:)

Monday, Monday, dah, dah, dah......(singing)

Its only Monday! I'm still recovering from the closing
ceremonies last nite! :) Thank god I'm off from work
today, as I usually am on Mondays.......

No super duper news yet.....but maybe a topic to start
talking about is the doping scandal that just hit the Games
right before they ended! All I have to say is that's a crying
shame......thank god for drug testing in the Olympics these
days.....I watched the Spanish skiier, Johann Muelegg
(orig. from Germany) do his final race in x-country on Sat....
thought he was quite good......and then the news broke
the next day :(

Thank you, Todd

Thanks to you (and xzchief) for keeping us up to date
on ALL the olympic activities from Salt Lake
City!:rose:

Thank you Jenny! (and LovetoGiveRoses)
What a cool gold medal there!
Oh yes, it was quite fun doing the Olympic thread.....
thank goodness xzchief was able to help out quite a
bit when I was unable to be there due to work
reasons. I lost some sleep time because of the thread,
but it was worth it sharing my enthusiasm for the Games
with everyone.

Thank you again! :)

News from the Lit End of Things........

Hi all!

Don't know if you are aware, but the many of the Lit poets
have been participating in the Poetry Olympics over the
past month or so. The 3rd event, aka "pairs competition"
has just been completed; what happened was some of your
fave poets paired up and collaborated on a poem together,
focusing on a winter sport but yet at the same time making
it erotic.

Participating countries are (your fave poets are in 'em, can't
tell you who they are!):

Myanmar, Brazil, Tibet, Jamaica, Liechtenstein, Netherlands,
and Palau

Go to the poetry board....there are links for each country
there....some are up, some are not, but please read each
team's poem, give feedback, and vote. This is an important
part of the contest........please pass this info on to those who
might not know about this and/or who might not see this
thread.

that's the news for now!

tigerjen

Yeah, I know this is really twisted of me, but when I caught a bit of the Closing Cermonies, my first thought was, "My God..tigerjen's going to be crushed! I wonder what I can find for her to report on?"

Yes. I know. Sick. :)

But, lovely jen...how's about some action from the Hot Stove League? Pitchers and Catchers are reporting and the full rosters aren't far behind? How's about some baseball action: updates, injury reports, and tips for those Fantasy League fanatics (two teams here - one local and one online).

Please? I'll help. :)

Hey Jazzman

You're more than welcome to help out if you like......I don't
know much about "fantasy baseball" as you put it, but do
feel free to post on here if you like.

I'd like this thread to be where I can inform people, and
others are welcome to give their input and/or give news.....

:)

Well a good general baseball thread is a good start. Fantasy (or Rotisserie) baseball just kind of flows from there. It's all a matter of rating one player over another. :)

And as far as I"m concerned, your threads are one of the places I start on Lit. I may be a pervert, a deviant, a grump, and a know-it-all, but I love my sports! ;)

I've heard of Rotisserie baseball....a guy friend of mine
was into that back in college! :) I told him that if he wanted
Rotisserie, he should order chicken :D

Ahhhhhhhh a sports fan! I am glad to know that you enjoy
the threads I've featured so far (Olympics....Super Bowl.....) :)

Quit Talking About The Olympics, They're Over And Try This On:

Jason Williams (Duke star), Jason Williams (former Nets star center), and Jason Williams (tattoo covered guard for the Grizzlies nee Sacramento Kings) are competing in their own Jason Williams Olympics.

How do they place in:

College algebra

In-house skeet shooting

Bong packing

Oprah bonking

Tanning

I'd be interested to hear your take.

There are too many Jason Williames!

I have definitely heard a bit more about the Jason Williams
from the NJ Nets and how he had a part in murdering
his chouffeur (sp?).......why would anyone want to kill
an innocent person? I feel bad for the Jason Williams
who plays at Duke.......because same first and last names....
pretty eerie...........

Can't believe spring training is here already!

Should be a great season, and I'd be very much interested in following an ongoing baseball thread!:rose:

hiya Jenny....

you can start the baseball thread if you like.....you must
be a fan of baseball just as you are a big hockey fan! :)

will the Mets win the World Series this year? Who knows?
would love to see 'em win for god's sakes!

(I like both Mets and Yankees......so I'm not super hard-core
fan to one or the other)

Being that kissing is my favorite past time, why don't we start now <kisses>

Hi Jen

What's going on today? Did you take advantage of the good weather yesterday? How about today? It's nice to go up to Devil's Den in weather like this. When it's not summer weather the place is usually abandoned and in the solitude it's good to admire God's handiwork. Not a bad day for a walk at the beach too.

Are you reading anything now? I just read Dean Koontz' "Door to December" which was a Carrie type book with a happier ending.

*getting a big purr*

What's going on w/ you? I was able to get out of the house
yesterday afternoon......hung out w/ a friend of mine by enjoying
an early dinner then going to Barnes and Noble afterwards for
frappuccinos and books and b.s'ing :) I don't recall ever being
up to Devil's Den, come to think of it.

Am I reading anything now? "Ninth Square" by Gorman Bechard,
a local author based in Hamden.....the story takes place in New
Haven, CT of all places! Murder mystery with a bit erotic flavor thrown
in there.........also will be starting sometime soon, "La Cucina" by
Lily Prior (kind of like a "Like Water For Chocolate")........
