Tiger Rag, or Caos theroy reigns in football.

Hell..give it to BYU. They're still undefeated!

Though my beloved Terrapins should have a shot, too!

Geaux Tigers!

Back-to-back wins over Auburn and Tennessee. It's enough to make even the most die-hard Bama fan like them.

Of course, the Sugar Bowl isn't too happy. There won't be that influx of tourist money with LSU playing.

Poor LSU

They survived the mugging from the thugs from Knoxville, and now they get a home game?

So will there be joy in Eugene or Bolder? Does Lincoln still have a chance.?

Not quite undefeated...

From MSNBC's report on the BYU/Hawaii game:
HONOLULU, Dec. 8 — Nick Rolovich did his best to prove that bowl organizers made a mistake by passing up Hawaii. Rolovich threw eight touchdown passes and Chad Owens scored on kickoff and punt returns as Hawaii ended No. 9 BYU’s bid for a perfect season with a 72-45 victory Saturday.

Thanks WH

now we know Caos Reigns!

Where is Maxwell Smart when we need him?

Re: Not quite undefeated...

Well, with BYU out of the picture, I say we give the nod to the Maryland Terrapins. Theyknocked off conference rivals Clemson, Virginia, North Carolina, and played Florida State at home to a draw until about the last five minutes of the game. They've an excellent defense, major offensive weapons as QB and RB and the Coach of the Year!

Go Terps!!

Yoiu forgot to mention proxmity to Fort Meade, where a the millitary spooks all hang out. Defenders against Caos. What ever happened to agent 99, anyway?

what about the Big Ten?

All I've heard all season is how down the Big Ten is this year, but how "up" can the other conferences be with Colorado winning the Big Twelve and LSU winning the SEC? Illinois had one bad Saturday (just like eveyone else aside from Miami) or otherwise Kittner would be holding the Heisman rather than that guy who can't figure out that a quarterback is supposed to throw the ball, and Illinois would be waiting a turn to knock Miami back to the sunshine state.

Illinois hasn't gotten national respect all year, and after they beat LSU they still won't get respect. If only Tennesee had won, then Nebraska would face Illinois in the Sugar Bowl. Then the nation might finally take note after Kittner shows how a pro-style quarterback runs a team.

LSU in the Sugar Bowl? Well congratulations to them, they played a hell of a second half with two of their offensive stars out, but for Illinois fans I'm afraid it's a letdown.

What's so big about the big 10?

A let down? When was the last time that Illinois played on Jan !? Prolly aboput as long as its been for LSU. But the problem is that the League is not what it once was, and winning it doesn't mean much anymore. If Illinois wants respect they need to play a non-cnference schedule that includes teams that went to bowls last year.

I'm an LSU alum (and going to be a double alum in May, God willing) and I can't remember a better time to be a Tiger. We last won a share of the SEC title in 1988, but the Sugar Bowl selected Auburn over LSU despite LSU's winning that year's head-to-head matchup in the famous "earthquake game". LSU has had some really rough years lately so tonight was so tonight was pretty sweet. (LSU last played on Jan. 1 in 1986, Samuari.)

What makes it even better is that the Tigers will be playing in the Sugar Bowl here in New Orleans so it's a virtual home game 70 miles from Baton Rouge. What's ironic though, is that the New Orleans tourist industry hates having the Tigers in the Sugar Bowl since LSU fans already live in NO or drive in from Baton Rouge the day of the game and don't stay in NO hotels and hang out in the French Quarter (although if we win... ;))

I've already got a pregame tailgate arranged at the medical center which is just a couple of blocks from the dome. It's gonna be a good time.

Geaaaaaux Tigers!

You mean a non-conference schedule that includes Texas Christian, Troy State, Notre Dame and Rice (like Nebraska's)? or Notre Dame and Memphis (like Tennessee's)? Scratching my head and looking at the bowl picture. Now where are those teams playing in the post season?

And in case you didn't notice, Illinois played Louisville in a non-conference game this year (and beat them by 24 points), and the Cardinals finished the season 10-2 and will soon be taking a trip to their fourth consecutive bowl game.

I didn't mean this as a put-down of LSU (or anyone else) by the way. It's just that playing LSU won't carry as much weight in the minds of a national audience as playing a team like Nebraska. That's what I meant by a letdown.

Boycott!

Till they institute a playoff system. The time has come.

Geaux Tigers.

Hey I love Caos! The arguments will be endless about who really is the champion, qwith luck may even a few fights.

Here's the perfect solution that will never be implemented because it will make too much money and no one will want to be left out:

ALL Div. 1 schools are equally divided into a regional conference, current config. be damned. North, East, South, and West. The top two teams from each conference will have a championship (they can be sponsored as a bowl game) and from the final four will be decided, etc.

The reason we don't have a playoff isn't because they want the public to talk about it, it's because the system involves too many interests and would make too much money to divide equitably. A Swiss firm once estimated the amount to be over a billion dollars.

Who cares!.

All this incredible erotica on this site, and you folks are talking football, and college no less.

If you can't get the dick up, at least watch an NHL game!

This Bowl discussion has been going on for years, and NOBODY is going to change anything. There's too much money at stake to make it legitemate and introduce a true playoff.
