Hey, Nobody Special, if it's on a CD, go to http://zdnet.com and download a program called Audiograbber. It'll let you pull the file off of the CD and save it to your hardrive as a .wav file (It'll be huge, about 10 MB per minute of song). Once you've done that, you can also use the same progie to compress it to an MP3, then you're down to about 1 MB per minute of song. Zdnet has some great info on MP3. Once you start making your own MP3s, then you can really score...most people with quality MP3s are only gonna let you download their stuff if you have something to trade.

Search the web for 'Jet-Audio' It's a 'music rack' program that will copy CD Audio into WAV or MP3 format on YOur hard disk. The trial version is 'crippled' and you'll have to try several times before it decides the track it's going to copy is the one you want, but it's the only one I've seen so far that will convert CD tracks to MP3 files.
