Finally I found a way to tie my round laces without them coming undone!
I found it on Ian's Shoelace Site
He calls it "Ian's secure shoelace knot"
And it works!
Even on wet laces!
Great for boating shoes! Hiking shoes!
Athletic shoes!
Teach your children. :)
Merry Christmas :D

I haven't looked at Ian's Shoelace Site. I simply tie the the loops together into a knot.

My husband just read this topic and thinks this is the sexiest sex forum ever.

I was thinking about starting a thread titled "How To Get An Avatar While I Clean The Gunk Out Of My Mistress's Pussy In The Garden While Tying a Shoelace Securely Around a Dude's Self-Lasered Nutsack Even Though I'm Not Attracted To Men Because Lit Chat Is Still Down"

But I thought it a little too sexy for a sex site. ;)

Try this Ted talk on the weak and strong forms of tying laces.

First: I was ASTOUNDED that such a thing would be discussed at TED....In context its sort of an object lesson, so it does fit, but still....surely there was a similar paradigm shift in an ACTUAL scientific endeavor SOMEWHERE??

Second: shortly after learning to tie my shoes I abandoned either of the single loop-through methods he demonstrates in favor of the double loop-through because it both provides more linear friction to keep the knot secure AND uses up shoelace which was always too long for my relatively narrow feet. Of course i wasn't thinking at five about coefficients of friction, but I DID realize intuitively that the knot I made was more secure.

I briefly flirted with the double knot method but it is unsuitable in snowy slush...cotton laces shrink and especially with frozen fingers are nigh impossible to untie.

I am fascinated though to find something fascinating in this thread. ~spock voice~
