Thru the Mysts.. Open...

[ This thread is open to any and all who wish to join. I need anyone interested in playing to take the part of other passangers. Men and women alike.]

Her Father Lord Viscount Damein Devro had married Katheren O'Conner. Her grandmother was scottish, and grandfather Irish, and well her fathers family english. Nether side of the family got along well, both sides only agreed on one thing. They both cared greatly for their grand children.

The ship had tossed and heaved in the storm. They had run into the storm to escape an on comming pirate ship, and it was ether risk the storm or the pirates. The good captin had decided to risk the storm.

Moora could hear the ships captin yelling orders to the seamen above and prayed that, every thing would be alright. They had saild from the America's and were on their way to Scottland to see her brother, and his family.

She had turn'd 19 and was still unwed. She had hoped to meet a strong handsome man and settle down. A good strong scott's man or and Irishmen would do wonderfly. No offence to her father but the english dandies she'd met seemd well weak.

Stepping out of her cabin Morra decided to try and make it to her parents cabin to see how her mother faird she had been sea sick sence they left port.

There were sevral other passangers abord as well. A husbend and wife with their baby boy. Two or three other gentalmen, and two others who hadnt showed themselves.. a man and a woman..

Morra jumped watching her father come running twords her grabbing her arm and yelling at her to get above to a long boat the ship was beginning to sink... and that he would get her mother..

Morra begain running and made it to one of the long boats watching in horror as a huge wave hit the ship sending several men over board. Turning she heard the sound of a baby, and noticed the mother and child. The mother was standing at the raling screaming for her husbend.

Moora figured he must have been swept over board. Running to the women she grabbed her and pushed her twords the long boat. Taking the baby she handed the woman down to some of the men in the long boat, and as another wave hit she watched the long boat fall into the water, and over turn.

It was all she could do to hold onto the baby, and the railing. Weak and exausted, both of them soaked to the bone. She looked around for another long boat there was one left. Working her way along the raling holding fast to the baby as she made it to the longboat.

She saw her mother and father, as well as some of the other passangers. Holding onto the baby, and with the people in the long boats help she climbed in. Watching the boat sink as the long boat pulled away the baby crying in her arms.

The mystery woman....

OCC: Beth Waters, 28, black wavy hair, smokey-grey eyes, 5'3", short and cute as a button... that girl next door image.... a mystery to those around her and somewhat a mystery to herself as well.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Beth waited in her room, quietly so as not to disturb anyone that may have been trying to rest in the room next to hers. She was scared, and alone, not wanting to make friends, just wanting to get to Scotland and find her father. She only had the cameo that her mother had given her, hours before she died. She had sold everything she owned, except that cameo and the clothes on her back. Beth had booked passage heading toward Scottland with no way of knowing the man who had sired her, even still existed, or if he even wanted her. But, now destitute and alone, her mother dead and her small young brother taken in by the rectory, she had no where else to go.
The first sign of trouble, went unanswered by Beth, as the ship tossed and turned in the sea. She was worried, but not fearful, the few times she had ventured out of her room, she had heard snippets of conversation and she had known the Captain of the vessel was competent. She would pay for her meals and swiftly move back to her room, occupied by herself, she hadn't wanted to spend the extra funds on her own room, but she also didn't want to share it, so she dug deep into her coffers, if one could even consider her meager coins, worth the fine name of coffers, and payed the exhorbant fee for her own room.
Now, as each wave crashed against the ship, Beth realized there was trouble, she had made no friends, and had spoken to so few people, she knew that noone would remember her, and noone would look for her. For a moment she considered not abandoning her room, but instead shook the terrible thought from her head and pulled her small frame up and made her way out of her room, and into the chaos that surrounded her.
People were screaming and jumping. Some ran, one sobbed unconsolable, an infant wailed in someone's arms, Beth ran towards the group that was quickly entering the boat. When her turn arrived she, lept in, noticing the screaming infant and the terrified faces around her. She heard the creaking and groaning of the ship and found herself once more on an adventure, this time not on one to find her father, but on one bent on surviving.
OOC:could I play the captain instead of a passenger? Also what timeframe is this might I ask?
Victoria
Victoria Sunders, 23, Blonde hair reaching to her hips in soft waves, green eyes, Tall at 5'8", rather large busted with a classic hour glass figure.
Being on her way to Scotland to meet the man that her loathsome father had proxy married her to. Arranged marriages were always so unfair but being the dultiful daughter Victoria packed up and left her home. She had been accompanied by her fathers guardsmen to the boat and there left to board and remain. The agreement was that she was to meet her husbands men at the recieving end.
Laying there thinking of the dreadful life her father had sold her into, being alerted to the danger by the pounding on the door. As she steps out of her cabin chaos rains around her, people were running and screaming. Babies crying, and it all seemed to be at the rails of the ship. Where they were climbing into the life rafts and departing.
Taking only a moment to deside she runs for the remaining boat hoping that there would be enough room for her. She watches as passengers are loaded, then comes her turn. Stepping into the boat she looks back to see men and women still waiting to enter some crying some with a wild look of panic upon their faces. Would they make it she wonders as still more people come to the boat wanting in.
Captain James Summers stood upon the deck of the Marissa, his breeches strapped tightly to his legs, and his boots coming up to his knees, then folding down fashionably. He had deep black hair that was brought back with a quip and hung down to his shoulder. He had already had the sails withdrawn and aimed the ships prow towards the winds of the storms, as the waves would come alongside the ship instead of smashing into her hull. Alas, when turning they took it too sharp and now his beautiful ship was filling full of water.
He watched all the people leaping of into one of the longboats and some of them making it, he realized they would survive for a time, however with no navigational skills between any of them and no knowledge of seafarring they would only starve to death upon the small longboats. The Captain realized he was going to look extremely greedy and selfish right now but the people upon his ship were already doomed and were going to die. He needed to save the ones that got free from the ship.
James went about grabbing his first mate, and a few of the more experienced sailors until they numbered twelve, he had six of them hold back the passangers that noticed what he was doing while him and six others lowered the longboat into the roiling, violent green waters. Once the boat was secure he dropped into it along with the twelve other sailors. A few passangers leapt for the boat but landed up splashing into the angry waters of the atlantic and getting pulled under its strong current.
"Row men! Row!" The longboat began to move away from the ship and Captain James looked away. He knew he would feel guilty about this moment for the rest of his life, he began to have the longboat rowed towards the other one with the surviving passangers.
Beth watched as the ship began to teeter and slip deeper, the resounding crashing filled her ear's and she shivered as it groaned. Bodies were floating, debrie scattered, women, children, men all floated either dead or unconcious, she couldn't tell. She had never seen such chaos surrounding her.
She watched as the boats pulled away from the people, many still leaping and screaming for them to wait. What was the man doing? She sat there, in the boat, along side a man, and a woman, a baby wailed behind her. Looking everywhere, she saw no other children, "Thank god," she muttered. "How will someone care for a child?"
Beth waited in silence as the men used their stregth to row the boat towards its sister, and her hand pressed the cameo against her skin, the only thing she would have of her life, and quite possibly the only thing she'd ever have that housed her parents pictures.
Morra heald the baby close doing her best to keep the baby boy warm. They were all soaked from the storm, so all she had to offer tho not much was the heat from her body.
The storm had passed an hour or so ago, and thankfully the baby had fallen asleep. From what she could tell all of the long boats had made it save for the one that had turnd over. The men had grabbed oars and had moved all the long boats closer to each other and The captin had begain leading them in the direction he thought they should go. Morra quietly prayed that they haddnt gotten too far off corse in the storm and that they wernt to far from land.
Looking down at the baby Moora wispered to him. I am sorry little one. I couldnt save yer mum, and i doona even know your name, but i'll do my best to keep ye safe.
Victoria
Sitting in amoungst those around her she listens to the fearful talk of the storm and if it would return. Whether we had gotten to far off course, or if we would even find land. She was scared but mainly worried about just surviving the boat trip. As she watched the night, trying very hard not to dread the days to follow.
Looking around finally Victoria notices others around her, the boats that had made it so far had been strapped together. They seemed more stable now then what they had been before, still the waves crashed in around them tossing the vessels around, making her thankful that she had fore gone dinner. Opting to stay within her room, away from anyone else.
In the long hours to come Victoria found herself thinking if anyone would miss the boat of passengers or if they were to be lost. She knew no one would look for her, the husband she had never met couldn't be to worried since he couldn't even come to his own wedding. Shaking her head slightly to throw out her thoughts Victoria settles in, thinking this is going to be a trip that none of us will ever forget.
James had his longboat put slightly in the lead, motion for the others to follow his lead. The deaths of those they had left behind still lingered on his mind and it was probably one of those things that always would. He had four men rowing in time with each other so they were moving south east. At least he hoped so, the storm had spun him around, and the only sure way he'd know which direction to head was in the morning.
He sighed pinching the bridge of his nose in exhaustion. Southeast had the better chance of finding land, he didn't want to move farther North for fear of the cold waters. Right now their man concern was just finding any sort of hospitable land.
The sun was starting to rise, and as far as Morra could tell they were headed in a south or south easterly direction. She new the sun would dry their clothing and their bodys, but it was going to be a long day, because as far as she could tell there was no food or freash water.
Morra watched the captin plan their corse, He seemed like a fine strong intelligent man, and hadsome too. Tho until now she had only seen him a few times on deck, as she'd stayed in her cabin for most of the trip. Only ventruing out in the evening for fresh air, and to streatch her legs.
Looking over her sholder she checked on her parents. They seemed alright, tho her mother was a little green. Looking around she notices two other women besides herself. Are the two of you alright?? She asked.
Beth looked at the woman, holding the baby. Her face pale, but her concern for the child touched Beth's heart and made her think of her little brother, now gone from her. Yet, this baby may or may not make it, her brother now lived somewhere else. Was his family loving? Beth had no real knowledge of that, but this baby, and his mother, so young. How would she help him survive?
"I am..," she paused and took a deep breath, "I'm all right. What is your baby's name?" Beth was looking for any reason to not think of the dead and or dying that the captain had left behind, in hopes that they would make it.
She had thought for awhile, about why he pulled away from the boat, and her thoughts could only settle on the number of people and the panic that had ensued. Reaching her hand into her pocket, she found the old bread that she had saved from her meal, in hopes to eat it later. Though it was somewhat moist, it was something, offering it to the babies mother. "I know it isn't the greatest thing, but perhaps your baby will take it. Oh, is it a boy or a girl?"
Tis a boy.. and i dont know his name. His parents were lost in the storm, I couldnt save them, and if we live i plan to raise him as my own. Morra said tears in her eyes as she looked down at the little one. He couldnt be more that a year old. I think i will call him Drustan. My my name is Morra.. Mora Devro, What's yours? she asked looking back up at the woman.
Sitting listening to the two women in front of me I caught some of their conversation. Looking to the babe within the young womans arms thinking how small to lose ones parents.
Speaking up just enough so they could hear me, "I like his name, tis a fine one and I am sure he will be proud to call you his mom when he is older. Did you know his parents at all?" I couldn't help but ask since she was holding the child, wondering how she had came upon the small child.
James eyes watched the skies now with a clear interest. He was looking for birds, for birds ment land. They had no food or drinking water with them, and before he even worried about starving or dieing of thirst he worried about the people going insane, being on a boat this long, he'd seen it before. They might leap off and start trying to swim by themselves or even turn to more drastic measures.
James reached around his back and rubbed his hand over the pistol there, a small powder case was also attached to his belt, just in case upon the ship one of the men resorted to mutiny. He sighed to himself. If they didn't find land by tonight the people that were not sailors would probably already start questioning his leadership, and that would get ugly.
Running my hands through the baby's hair, enjoying the silky feel of it. "Beth... Beth Waters. He seems to be a strong lad, and I'm sure we will help you when we can." The sea wind billows around us, and the bread that I offered is sucked and gummed by the small child. Smiling at Morra, I turn around as the woman behind us joins in our conversation.
I hear her question and take in her long blonde hair. Seeing that though she is very beautiful, she honestly seems to care about the small infant. In my past I remember the lovely ladies that I had served under. Very rare was it to find one that did not use her beauty to abuse those beneath her. Though I don't know this woman, I am a good judge of character. Admitting to myself that I am just as curious as to her question, I turn to wait Morra's explanation, agreeing with the woman, "Drustan, is a fine strong name, for such a handsome one as he."
Seeing out of the corner of my eye, I notice the captain reaching behind him. My eyes slowly watch his movement. Feeling as if he is hiding something, I promise to myself to watch out for the women, seeing that they are younger then me. As he moves his hand away, the pistol comes into view and more fear runs through me. A gun is a dangerous thing to have in times like these. But, alas it may be the best thing they have also.
Settling myself with the women, I listen to Morra and wonder if other's will have similar tales, or if anyone knows where they may be. Watching the water and the waves, my ear's pick up the conversation the two other women were having.
Tis pleased i am to meet you Beth. Morra said smiling slightly glad of a little converstation to help pass the time. Morra smiled down at the little one as he woke and gumed the small peace of bread he was given. Thank you.. She said to Beth.
Hearing the other lady ask if she new Drustan's parents she shook her head sadly and said. Nay i only meet his parents breifly from time to time strolling on deck. His father was washed over board in the storm, and i helped his mother make it to one of the long boats, but before i could hand her the barren.. er baby a wave hit and the long boat was over turnd in the water.
Looking down she noticed that Drustin had dropped his bit of drool covered bread and quickly picked it up of the bottom of the boat. Dusting it off as best she could she handed it back to him and noticed that Beth was watching the captin intently, and hoped herself that they would find land soon.
OOC:
Hmmmm... has the captain jumped ship??? If so.. I believe we'll have to rope in a first mate??? ~RH&F
ooc.. I'd have to agree.. what is it with the men lately anyway.
IC.. Moora looked up at the sky it had been three days.. the poor baby in her arms had passed out from hunger, and exaustion hours ago.. waking up and crying until he passed out again. They had all been doing what they could but there wasnt much. Morra had cryed not only for the baby but for all of them.
Hearing what she thought to be sea gulls Moora continued to gaze at the sky not quite beleaving that she was acutally seeing and hearing the birds... Shaking her head she looked and sure enough there in the distance was Land... Land she thought Thank the goddess Land she thought and began yelling as loud as her dry throat would let her. Land... LAND ... LAND...ohhh hold on baby land..
Looking up towards the island that Morra had pointed out Beth's heart skipped rapidly in her chest. She wondered why the Captain hadn't pointed it out, but she shrugged her shoulder's dismissing his earlier actions that seemed to warrent a hidden agenda. She hoped that the weapon he had wouldn't be neccessary but one never knew.
Beth watched as the Captain and several other men, jumped from the boats and pulled them to shore. Beth took the baby from Morra and cradled it close as she climbed from the boat. The infant was passed back to the woman, many heads shook from the desparing look of the baby, knowing that it would probably die if food and fresh water were not found soon.
Climbing from the boat Beth watched as the survivors made their way up to shore. Many stood dazed and confused. Some headed into the thick foliage while others just collapsed and let the sun continue to beat down on them. Beth touched the cameo hidden under her dress, and stared out into the water, trying to clear her memories of the terrible shipwreck and bring back to her mind the smiling face of her baby brother. Tears fell as she realized she would never see him, or the father she never knew.
Morra made her way to the shade of the trees with Drustan. Greatful for Beth's help getting out of the boat.
Morra knew that shade would help to cool him, and looked for some sort of coccanut, or banna's in the trees that she could feed him while others explored. Seeing a small river that emptyed into the ocean Moora ripped the bottome hem of her dress and quickly begain cleaning Drustan's small form, as well as trickling some of the fresh water into his mouth..
