This is the setup for an episode in a continuing story. I have to be out of pocket (no pun intended) for a week. So I think it would be fun to kick a scene out to see who takes a shot at it.

The cast:

Cynthia: Dominatrix; straight, artistic in the performing arts and photography veins; has been brought in to whip (I couldn't resist) the camera crew into line.

Justin: Camera jockey; gay or bi; owns the photography company.

Jason: Model and Justin's hanger on; buff thrill seeker and gym rat; bi and kinky; will kiss Cynthia's shoes if she lets him.

Peter: Film and FX guy; very straight; dislikes Jason and the J & J relationship; most talented of the bunch.

Sean: Offstage; Cynthia's hearthrob; Own's the auction company. He will try to stay as far away as possible.

The setting:

There is to be a high dollar auction in 6 weeks. The catalog must go out in 10 days. Cynthia has been brought in to make sure it happens. There are thousands of photos already existing, but no master plan.

Other points of interest:

Item: The Auction. In addition to a lot of mundane to racy art, there are a number of items of a sexual nature with historical or political significance.

Item: A genuine letter from the Marquis de Sade

Item: A collection of restraints, whips, toys and paraphanalia from a Hollywood brothel's dungeon room, circa 1920s.

Item: Cynthia's fully equipped BDSM gym which can serve as a studio.

I brought Sean in.

“Sean. Now that we’ve had a few minutes to circle and growl, we need the pack leader to choose a mate. Who is responsible for what? Particularly, who owns the existing shots and who has access to the shooting equipment.” <Sean is not slow. He took the baton right off.>

“If I am not mistaken concerning the contract, I own all the film, negatives and so forth. These gentlemen own the camera and have certain rights and responsibilities concerning the use of same, but once taken, the shots become the property of S&J Import and Auction. You might have a little case about the exposed film on a partially used roll, but anything removed from the camera is, well, mine.

“As to the equipment, they own the cameras; I own or lease everything else. So if I understand the question, I can give you virtually unlimited access, except to the cameras themselves. You can pose, set, light, and order shots to your hearts content. Justin will shoot. You can develop, redevelop, crop, layer, whatever. In that area, you have unrestricted control. Peter can either assist and add his name to the credits, or not. Does that clarify matters?” <Lord he has a talent for this.>

“Gentleman, she is the boss. Oh and a hint: she’s good at it.” <Warm fuzzies all over. There are times I could just eat the man up.>

“So gentlemen, lets get to it. We have a deadline to meet. If you want your artistic input, I suggest you cope with it. My Dear, I am going to settle some details we spoke of at lunch.” <What details? Oh. Smooth exit.>

“You heard the man. To work.” I pulled out my portfolio. “This is all from passive tape. Comments?” I only brought the soft stuff, but it made an impression. Jason in particular got large eyed. Nailed that one. Peter started squinting and cocking his head. Peter may be an artist too. While they looked at mine, I looked at theirs.

Their pictures were quite professional, beautifully posed, and boring as a tax form.
