Threads scare me but i have to know...

what does the little red H mean at the end of some stories?

H means hot. You can get a hot rating on a story after you get 10 votes if the average of those votes is 4.5 or higher.

thank you so much...that had been driving me crazy for so long...thank you

How did you know that?

The green E means "Editor's Choice" and I am not as sure about the W but that might mean that the story has won in one of the contests.

Why do threads scare you?
Actually, your name scares me a little. :D

It means 'Little Red H(en)'

The story reminded them of a childhood story?

:p

Thank you...Threads scare me cos ive never posted one be4 and they seem confusing...scattered text everywhere...maggots arent scary...just disgusting so you dont have to be scared of my name...you can be simply disgusted...but its your choice

and what about the green E and the Blue W?
what do they mean?

The 'W' is awarded to the three top stories of the month.

It's the voter's award. The three stories of each month to get the most votes are awarded that merit.

If you hang around here long enough, you will learn to get over your thread phobia.

In addition, you will discover there are more disgusting creatures than maggots :(

well thank you but i think in retrospect i would have spent more time editing. I never seem to be happy with the outcome when i cant edit it anymore...know what i mean?

And how did everyone find out what the little letters mean?
Is there a directory of symbols? Do you have to belong to a secret club?

Quite so Burl Pirates can be very disgusting at certain times of the Moon cycle.

Lo Maggot, welcome to the nuthouse.

Most of us found out the same way you did -- we asked.

However, there does happen to be a list among many other bits of information located here: http://www.literotica.com/faq/

OK, what about the yellow icons in the second column in forum listsings - the '!'-in-a-triangle and the arrows, et cetera?

Those should be self-evident if you pay attention to the nwpost and newreply pages -- they're the message icons (like the lightbuld icon on this post) that the author chose to mark the first post of the thread with.

If so, it's the "message icon" option when you post.
