Anyone contemplating their New Years Resolutions yet?
Any goals for next year?
Thoughts on what you would like to achieve in the New Year?
Care to share?

I am thinking about changing careers. I love my job but I need a new challenge. My kids are growing up quick. I am, ahem fairly young, keen and enthusiastic.
Wavering on becoming a student. Either studying computers or ??? That's a biggie. What else.
I would need to take a part time job, giving up the one I have, juggling study, family of 7 , community committements and studying as well. This is not too daunting to me in the long run except for the guilt thing.
Will I be letting my family down? By not always being here? Or, will I, as a person, grow, becoming more of an asset to them because I feel fulfilled. I am also highly committed to my mum in law who is 78 but old beyond her years. She has no friends, her only outside contact, her home help. I do have a hubby who will support me no matter what. I am very lucky.
*shrug* Who knows but I am willing to give it a try.

Continuing with my New Years Resolutions,

To find serenity. :D She is missing from my life.
I want to stop biting my nails.
To be less sensitive. I take things too personally. Internalising my feelings. Bottling them up. Afraid to say no.
To be the best I can be.

Do you make resolutions?

I think that is a great idea about going back to school!!!
If you can make it work for you, go for it.

Sounds as if you would have a lot on your plate. But if you are determined and focused you can do it. Good Luck!!!

Cassidy,
who is still working on her resolutions:)

New Years resolutions already? I still have 27 days!

I like your New Years resolution ideas. I still have some unused ones from.... THIS year ;), and I think I'll just carry them over to next year. And it's environmentally friendly too!

As for going back to school. I love the idea. But of course you'll want to take a good long look at course availability and what times they are offered.

Nothing wrong with recycling :D Luckily my options are many here. Online courses from home. A course run by a local EIT just 10 mins into town. Starting in Jan/Feb.

Er just 10 minutes away? Won't you miss face to face communication?

I realize no one likes finding a parking space on a crowded campus, especially during the winter but if it is only ten minutes away why not just attend class? I Love the feel of a nice bustling campus.

Of course with an online curriculum it would be much easier to work into a busy schedule.

And flirting! Think of all the lovely undergrads to flirt with. :p

Resolutions????

Hmmmmmm

I have decided that I will do whatever it takes for me and the children to be happy. It has been a long time coming and we are certainly overdue for a bit of sunshine!

Not that we are a miserable lot, mind you, but I will work harder at being a patient mom and looking towards my own happiness as well. If I am smiling, so shall they!

I am really feeling warm and fuzzy this morning, hence this sort of post. I am smiling inside and have lots to smile about ! :)

I will continue to lose weight and possibly return to school. Who knows?

The one in town is small and select. :) I am fairly shy. Online or few people is fine with me. The big EIT is 20 mins from here. *Shudder* I think close proximity will be fine.
Flirting? At my age? Married I am.
Besides I would have to find the time.

Damnit people I want to know. Will you be making New Years Resolutions? Have you made them before but only followed through on some? None? HAven't made any?
My resolutions last year were to give up smoking ( I have done that , four months now) and to become more assertive and confident in myself. (Nope)

i won't make any b/c i never stick to them.

Hey :) at least you are honest. :) Something to be proud of.

BTW

your sig line? "I have a sickness in the brain. I'm allowed to make no sense to you puny mortals, with your fully opperational head-meat."

Psst "None of us are completely normal." Ok? Just don't tell too many people. :)

Can I ask why I am head meat? :) I have read your posts and enjoyed them.

Shy? :) You don't seem shy.

I am rather shy myself. Well I guess I've grown out of that.

And as for resolutions; I make resolutions sometimes but not at New Years now. I honestly can't change those things that are most wrong with my life. I can't bring the dead back to life, though I have begged God to do so.

Let me know how the online classes go if you would. I'd love to here how things go and what your feelings are about the good and the bad of online classes. It should be fun taking your first lecture at home and being able to just get up and go to the kitchen for a drink. Not too mention all of the other things that can be avoided too. And no commute!

*taps on Debbie's skull*

your head meat.

the *tap* meat *tap* in *tap* your *tap* head. *tap*

:D

Tapping myself on the head * finding a rather hollow sound and echoing* uh I think I am blonde or tapping in the wrong place but it all seems rather hollow in there. BTW OW you tap hard. :D

I promise. I am quite shy. Ask my best friend! She tells people she knows, " My friend Debbie could talk the hind leg off a donkey. She is funny and quick witted." Huh? They meet me and I mumble, "Nice to meet you." *SILENCE* Boy she is so mad at me then. :D
I work from home now. LOL Reason no 1 as to why I always seem to be at Lit. I Love the no commute thing! And the "Oh what shall I wear" dilemma is so overrated. :p

New Year's Resolutions...

My New Year's resolution is not to make a New Year's Resolution. Why start off a brand new year lying to myself?

*looks at finger*

*looks at Debbie's head*

*looks back at finger*

*looks back at Debbie's head*

*gets puzzled look*

*scratches head while wearing puzzled look*

*sratches nose*

Honesty is ALWAYS the best policy.
I often wonder, if I make New Years Resolutions but don't follow through does that make me a procrastinator , hypocrite or I do have unresolved issues? :D

i have an IQ of 6000 (the same IQ as 6000 PE teachers, 12000 car park attendants, and 48000 blondes (i can say that b/c i've got the hair for it. blonde))

I try to be honest when I make resolutions. Really I do,but here are mine anyway...ask me in a year if I actually did any of them. ;)

I promise to go back to school.

I promise to not get upset about the various life problems that pop up.

I promise to keep my lingerie addiction under control.

I promise to wait until its right before making life altering decisions.

I promise to cut back on my Mt. Dew.

Debbie, I think I am all of the above; procrastinator, hypocrit and I have unresolved issues so why heap more guilt on a mind that is mere millimeters away from destruction? I will not make a resolution. Oh no, I think I just did. Well damn it.
