That would be a BIG NO, NEVER. . . .unless he plans on getting his ass kicked by a girrrrl!!!

*sorry, sore subject*

Violence is not an answer - a cause, but not an answer!

Without going into too much detail: I grew up in a physically abusive home and it was NOT pleasant in any way, shape, or form. it has left scars on more than just my body and anyone that has dealt with that type of abuse tends to be more 'accepting' of it as they are older. I on the other hand - DO NOT ACCEPT that behavior what so ever! It is not allowable and those that live that lifestyle and raise kids should be sterilized and dropped off on an island so they can beat the crap out of each other and leave everyone else out of it!!

OK, I am a little radical in my views, but I am passionate about this subject (so sue me) :)

Just my $ 0.02

no you are absolutly right and my friend the only reason she was upset was because she happened to be holding her baby and i flipped out i couldnt believe that she didnt care that he hit her it was more that he didnt it while she was holding her baby...i was like omg he should be hitting herr no matter what

No matter what the relationship is, there is no reason for someone to raise a hand to another. That is abuse plain and simple ~ violence is never appropriate.

For the abusive asses, that sounds great to me!!!
Not radical to me baby...

Honestly face slapping...and getting rough in scene is okay, but if its not consensual that big no-no. No one should ever be put in such a situation

my parents always taught me and my brothers that a man should never hit a woman there are ver few instances where i would find it alright for that kind of behavior......and bring a 2 month old baby into the scene made it a 1000 times more wrong

How about violence full stop ?

There is such a thing as being provoked ... I agree that every situation is different and as a general rule arguments should not be ended in violence.

On a bigger scale it would be nicley idealistic if, as a society we could end domestic violence altogether. Imagine if you will a society where the fundamental idea of resorting to violence was as far removed from us that it never became an issue, where the term violence was only used in reference to history.

Just some thoughts ... :)

i agree that it would be idealistic to think domestic violence could be done away with and that every situation is different ...but i stand by that there are very few instances where i find that it would be ok for a man to hit a woman..........for any man who has ever hit a woman all you are is a fucking bastard and a weak one at that

just my 0.02 cents

I disagree with the premise of the basic question. Hitting is just not acceptable in the realm of normal realtions... However If someone threatens My life or the lives of my loved ones that persons gender dosent even enter into the equation.

What her brother did... so not o.k. Violence between anyone shouldn't happen.

However, this is what I believe and I hope I don't get ragged on too much for say this, but I believe if a woman has enough balls to strike a man then she should be prepared to get hit back. If you wanna fight like a man, the do it. Don't go around hitting men and then act surprised when they hit back. Just my opinion.
