Been here about a week now.

SUVs. Cheap food, and lots of it. Lots of white people. Meat counters straight from heaven. Hot dames. Weather on a dime. Fat housewives. Pretentious? Yeah, we got that.

me. dammit.

Speaking of meat counters...

if you're in South Kansas City, you must get yourself to Martin City (about 135th and Holmes) and eat a slab of steak at Jess and Jims. You won't be sorry.

I'm around 79th, now I think. Prarie Village. But I'll live in The Plaza in about a week.

I'll be sure and check it out.

I had chicken fried chicken for the first time a few nights ago. Taste-tastic.

Go to 75th and Metcalf. Eat at Fiorella's Jack Stack.

You could gain 700 pounds living here.

Fucking seriously. I've eaten out every night.

Ever been to Winsteads? I was full on 5.00 worth of food! And GOOD food!

I love Winsteads. Had lunch there the other day as a matter of fact.

Jose Peppers is in your neck of the woods. Best espinaca you'll ever eat.

Yeah, the Martin City location has more atmosphere.

Speaking of atmosphere... go to stroud's. It's under teh bridge at 85th and Troost. There'll be a long ass wait for a table, but it's worth it.

Jazz is pretty good, though I've never eaten at that location. I've been to the one North of the River.

Big Daddy's downtown has good cajun food too.

Bankok Pavillion has great Thai. Hey Pegan, do you know the name of the Thai place N of the river? Supposed to be good.

Nope, but I may have to look it up. Where N of the River?

Oh, and Genghis Khan mongolian bbq in KCK is a blast. It's right near KU Med, but i don't know what street it's on.

Jose Peppers at 103rd Metcalf. I eat there when I'm in town. There's one in Olathe, too. I stop in because the manager is a friend of mine.

Fritz's at 103rd and State Line...

STROUD'S...

Why move to the Plaza? Poor traffic. Tourists. Rotten food. Westport overflow.

However Gojo's at 43rd and Broadway...

Yes, the Royals suck. But we are all Chief's fans.

And go downtown and to the NE part of KC for Italian...

119th Metcalf, Grand Fortune Buffet is killer (friends of mine too...).

We do eat a lot here! I have to work out 4 hours a day to keep the weight off.

BTW, the rainy season will end in about three days...

You can watch as Kansas (outside of Overland Park) turns brown in the hot, sunny Mexican sunshine...

Speaking of Mexico, the Wendy's on Metcalf (about 82nd) has the best crew in KC...

BTW did you know Metcalf runs for three counties? Overland Park is trying to extend into all three...

There's a Jose Pepper's North of the River now too. Just across Barry Road from the mall.

If you want a cool loft style apartment without all the Johnson County SUV drivers clouding up your commute, move to one of the lofts in the River Market area.

That's because Overland Park still believes in Manifest Destiny.
