thou shall not kill

a billion catholics can't be wrong, can they? :D

Geez, Catholics sure do have a bad reputation, simply because it is just that, their religion. Not everyone who is Catholic beileves everything, read MOST, of what the church tells us what is wrong or right. Frankly I think the Catholic church spews WAY TOO MUCH bullshit, but then that's just my opinion.

Is killing wrong? Most of the time perhaps. In times of war? Well, I'm afraid anything goes in war. But you can't just walk up to someone because you don't like them, and KILL them. Is there a difference between killing someone and murdering them?

who believes in this?
The proper translation is "You shall not murder"

The exact wording is "rasah" which in Hebrew is specific to "murder" as differentiated from general killing of which murder is a subset.

To discuss Biblical concepts and verses - it is better to use something other than the King James version which has its flaws in translation.

To answer the question - yes I believe it is wrong to murder, but then so do most people, whether they ascribe to Judeo-Christian ethics or not.

I'm catholic, so I can make fun of it. You are right, they do spout way too much bullshit! Isn't an 'eye for an eye' in the bible as well? (if I'm wrong here, please, don't give me grief...my biblical teachings occured when I was a teenager in an all-girls catholic school and cared not one bit about it.)

naw, not here to give your serious grief.

I'm not a serious reader of the Bible, or a bigtime Catholic. In fact I have often to family members stated that I am simply a Wedding, Funeral and sometime Holiday Catholic. Ain no Bible thumpers in this household. Just that we gat a bad reputation, as a whole.

Those are some of the reasons I prefer original languaes as best as I can get considering all original autographs are no mre.

My pref is textus receptus, i abhor {sorry to the catholics no personal offense meant} any and all manuscrpits freely handed out of vatican, like the vaticanus and the wescott and hortt manuscripts.

though learning greek at the same time to do a study can be a bit of a headache.

but when I do a straight KJV study {my prefered english version} I need to have a 1600's dictionary cause a few words have reversed thier definition since it was translated

Oh just shut up Todd no body cares of your incoherent babling
