A Maryland man charged with threatening to kidnap and kill Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris has been arrested, according to published reports citing law enforcement officials.

The man, identified as James Dale Reed, detailed graphic threats against Biden and Harris in a handwritten letter that, in part, stated "when we capture Grandpa Biden, we will all severely beat him to the point of death…and both (Biden and Harris) will be executed on National Television," according to a criminal complaint filed with the United States District Court in Maryland.

Reed, 42, left the letter on the doorstep of a resident in Frederick, Md., on or about Oct. 4 and several Biden/Harris signs were in the yard, according to the complaint.

A North Carolina man who was indicted last month on charges of child pornography also had plans to commit a mass shooting during the holidays and assassinate Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

A federal grand jury indicted 19-year-old Alexander Hillel Treisman, who also used the alias Alexander S. Theiss, in September on charges of knowingly possessing an image that contained child pornography, according to the Daily Beast. When authorities investigated Treisman's electronic devices, they discovered a bounty of disturbing information.

Found among Treisman's social media accounts and devices were images of various firearms he owned, plans to commit a mass shooting on "Christmas or Black Friday," references to child pornography and child-rape, and multiple internet searches about Biden's home.

Along with this information, authorities learned that he had purchased an AR-15 in New Hampshire and travelled to a Wendy's within 4 miles of Biden's home. He had also written a checklist ending with "execute" and under one of his social media accounts he had posted a meme with the caption "should I kill joe biden?"

BOSTON -- A man was charged with lighting a fire in a Boston ballot drop box and damaging dozens of ballots, police said Monday.

Worldy Armand, a 39-year-old Boston resident, was taken into custody late Sunday after drug control unit officers on patrol saw a man who matched the description of the suspect authorities were looking for in the ballot box fire, police said. Police said he also had an active warrant for receiving stolen property.

Armand faces a charge of willful and malicious burning, police said. It was not immediately clear whether he has an attorney to comment on his behalf.

The FBI said Sunday that it's investigating the fire that was set around 4 a.m. in a ballot drop box outside the Boston Public Library downtown.
