It's Christmas Eve and I'm at work. Nobody wants to be here. They are paying this whole crew of 20 guys to come in and nothing gets done. Everyone's minds are a million miles away, nobody cares, nobody wants to be here. All that is going to happen is we pay every guy 20 some odd dollars an hour for 8 hours, burn up about 800 gallons of diesel and send everyone home a couple of hours early.

What a waste of a day.

Maybe they're just trying to keep you out of the house so Santa can come?

I know it will be great. My older one is old enough this year to understand what is going on. She keeps telling us that Santa is comming soon. :)

On the bright side, since I'm at work, my wife has to wrap all the presents. :D

When I used to be a pastry chef, I'd be so exhausted when I came home Christmas Eve I didn't give a damn about Christmas; I'd just fall into bed and sleep for two days. We lived far away from family in the frozen, cold north.

With family around you, Christmas can be as merry as you want it to be! So cheer up, duck.

I share your sentiments because I also have to work. I have to leave soon. I told my boss I can only work so many hours. They'll just have to deal with it. I'm tired of them pushing me around and if they don't like it, I'll just leave. That simple. Merry Christmas CD and I hope work isn't too bad for ya. Take care.

My little girl is very aware Santa is coming tonight. In fact every so often she tries to convince me it's bedtime *L*

Cherrful -keep that chin up :) Soon be Christmas ;)

no work for me today, but I sympathize. I do have some things to do that did not get done last night like they were supposed to. but it wasn't our fault, I swear...

Don't think about the wasted day at work or the time away from your family. Concentrate on the overtime pay! Alas, the holiday bill will be coming in soon.

At least you don't have to work christmas day.

I've worked many a holiday. The worst part is stupid people who come it and say "it sucks you have to work today" If customers didn't come in- we wouldn't have to work!

Merry Christmas. Enjoy your overtime pay:)

You are having the kind of day I am having... only I am not at work. Mother Nature destroyed my plans for Xmas. :(
