Today is "May the Fourth be with You Day." Apparently having just a threesome is not enough anymore.

And the problem there is...??

I would too - except that we have house guests this weekend.

Glad I had today to...garden.

I read that Cinco de Mayo has overtaken St Patrick's Day and Superbowl Sunday for beer consumption in USA. But I think Superbowl still wins in guacamole quaffing.

Friday 4 May was a rough one for us. Saturday 5 May may find us collapsed, but we might stagger down to the county seat for supplies (avocados are on the list) and a stop at our favorite taco wagon. That will suffice.

Hope the 5th was better than the 4th.

Celebrate responsibly. Wear sunscreen, or something.

It's a thing, yes. Comes around every year. In July. On the 4th. No need to be sorry. It created one of those shake the head while you smile slightly.

However, it is not Mexican Independence day--that is 16 Sep.

Why do people think May 5th is? Oh, yeah. Nescient assumptions.

We couldn't make it to the taco truck today but I had a can of chicken tamales and a raw jalapeño for breakfast, washed down with Sierra Nevada 'Torpedo' IPA and a slug of Hornitos gold tequila. That sets the mood.

Sorry about the tacos. Go tequila.

Party anyone? Downtown was mobbed, but that's a normal Saturday night.

I went to a Great Gatsby party. With guac, enchiladas, and tequila. My friends are...unique.

Involved as I am in a story with two flapper ghosts, a Great Gatsby party sounds really interesting. But I wouldn't expect guacamole, enchiladas and tequila. Maybe caviar and whiskey.

It reminds me of an event a few years ago when a local (now city-owned) theater that opened in 1927 celebrated the reconstruction of it's original sign. They closed down the main drag through town, lined it with antique cars and people in 1920's costumes and showed "Metropolis." If you ever get a chance to see that flick, you should take it -- especially if you have any interest in SciFi or the history of cinema.

One of my daughters showed up in her take on 1920's fashion -- entirely of her design and construction. Her outfit was a little shorter and tighter than the actual fashions of the time, but it got her into a lot of photos.
