I have just sent the following message via PM to Laurel and Manu, the Literotica webmasters.

Dear webmasters,

The users of CHYOO are a patient and loyal bunch, but we are becoming rather annoyed. Some of us have been waiting over six months for new stories to be approved or rejected. Most of us have never, ever heard a peep out of the CHYOO webmasters in response to any of our site feedback or questions. It is unbearably frustrating to be met with constant silence from those who run CHYOO.

A short while ago, I posted a poll asking people what are the steps that should be taken to improve CHYOO. The thread is here. Most of these things are ridiculously easy to fix - to include a link on CHYOO's home page to the Message Board would require a time investment of about half a minute!

We like CHYOO, and we want to help keep it alive. The feedback section of the message board has been filling up with frustrated messages lately, but there are also valuable suggestions in there that would greatly improve CHYOO. I myself would like to volunteer to assist wherever I can, whether it be approving new stories based on CHYOO site guidelines or helping with the html coding of the site itself to make it more user-friendly. Since this would involve my being in a position of trust, I would provide my real name and other personal information if necessary.

If the intention of the webmasters is to let CHYOO stagnate and die, then we deserve to know. Please stop ignoring us.

Please stop ignoring us!

Sincerely,

Gystex

I will let everyone know if this bears any fruit. In the meantime, let's all hope for the best.

Gystex,
very well written, I couldn't have said it better myself. Also, that was very Honorable offering a real name and ID. I know how secretive you about about your real ID. The name Gystex itself oozes with secrecy. lol.

Good job, I'll be keep my eyes open for your response.

Nicely Done

I hope someone listens. You seem to have a pretty good response rate so hopefully you will hear somethings soon. I am more than happy to help in anyway I can.

:D

Update:

The letter has been read by Laurel, who has been helpful to me in other matters in the past - but as far as I know, she is not the CHYOO administrator.

The letter has not been read by Manu. I believe he is more involved in CHYOO, but has not been forthcoming with responses in the past (big surprise).

Still waiting for an actual response.

Ignored

I can't believe that we are being totally ignored. You send a nice note asking for a response and get nothing back. I just don't get it.

???

Still no response.

I have been sending this letter to the following E-mail addresses once per day:

support@chyoo.com
admin@chyoo.com
webmaster@chyoo.com
webmaster@literotica.com

I will continue to send it once per day until I see some response. Of course, the webmasters can simply put my E-mail address in their "ignore" list, thus thwarting me; therefore I ask that EVERYONE ELSE write similar letters to them and do the same thing. They probably won't ignore all of us forever.

Does anyone know what software they use for CHYOO?

It's a shame that you're not getting any kind of response. Perhaps you can try to send the message to some of the forum moderators on Lit. They must know the mods if they are in control of certain boards in the forum.

You might want to try...

KillerMuffin

or

alexandraaah

as they seem the most likely to be able to help.

Maybe it's time for a volunteer to step up and take the reigns of Chyoo moderator-wise. I'm sure it's a simple thing to update and approve stories in the technical sense, it's just that the person in charge right now is too busy with other things to work on it now. I'd volunteer myself, but I don't have that much stories and threads made to show to prove that I'd be worthy of the task.

Volunteers have stepped forth in the past and been met with the usual silence. I don't know why the mods do this, but they seem determined to alienate the CHYOO writers.

It could be that they still don't trust one person to be in charge unless they merit the position. Maybe if a group of people send a message voicing their approval of one person who they believe would be a good choice.

Two weeks now, and still no response at all. According to what I see in my PM tracking, "Manu" still hasn't read the Private Message I sent to him.

I've been sending the same message every day for two weeks. I begin to suspect that either my address has been blocked, or they're just getting dumped as soon as they come in. This is the main reason why I haven't bothered to alter the outgoing message, as I don't really want to put in 20 minutes each day composing a plea for attention if they're just going to get canned every time.

I ask once again for others to do as I am doing, and send in messages to the CHYOO and Literotica webmasters. It will be harder to ignore dozens of people than it will be to ignore just me.

Gystex,
well I hate to say it... but I am not going to send in any PMs or e-mails or anything else. I tried that many months ago... over and over again, the same way you're doing it now. I still have a Private Message waiting for Manu to view... and it's been there since.... 03-04-2004.

I wish you the best luck in this, but I am tired of wasting time with the Chyoo Mods.

If I knew what software they were using, I'd put up an alternative site. I have about 300 megs of space on a web server.

No idea what they're using, but I'd certainly support the idea of another site! I've been searching for an alternative to CHYOO for some time, so that at the very least I can use that as something to hold over the heads of the webmasters and get them to answer me.

Well, I sent a PM to both Laurel and Manu. The one sent to Laurel was read but no response.

A new letter was just sent to the webmasters:

Dear webmasters,

We here at CHYOO very much appreciate the recent update to the site which includes 14 new stories. Thank you for your work.

My offer still stands if any assistance is required on the CHYOO site. I notice that the CHYOO message boards have no moderators - this is a task I would be willing to take on. I would also be pleased to function as a first-response to inquiries made of the CHYOO webmaster, as many of the questions/comments received must be repetitive and I could give stock answers to such questions.

In short, I and other fans wish to help so that CHYOO can once again be updated regularly and the site can get its makeover.

Sincerely,

Gystex

Honestly, I still don't think they're doing much besides throwing us tokens, but at least it's something.
