What about the mesh-like faux k cups? The brand I purchase isn't plasticky. I need to find a way around this; there has to be a workaround that is not returning to traditional brewer.

Keurigs get clogged easily and when this happened to me, I tipped it over and smacked the bottom of it. Out comes tons of water and coffee grounds. I imagine it's not entirely possible to get all of the water out of it to avoid mold.

But that's just me being blindly optimistic.

If you ever get the chance, take a look inside the water pipes in your home. Or even worse, the 100 year old pipes that bring water to your home.

Four inches of plastic tubing inside your coffee maker isn't that big of a deal, comparatively.

I enjoy grinding my own beanage and retaining all the good oils and making some good fresh brew. I custom order my stuff straight from Costa Rica.

It's cheaper than those pre fab coffee deals too but eh.
