It was two am when Exeter's ship broke through earth's atmosphere, burning up as it did. "Not going to make it... not going to... ma*" his trembling words were cut off by impact with the earth's surface, sending him real g from his pilots seat and into a bukkhead, where he struck his head and fell unconcious to the steel floor. The vessel tor itself apart all around him as it plowed through a small copes of trees through the deep country side and dug up a long swath of earth as it slowly crashed and tumbled to a stop.

In the remaining debris after the alien craft came to a teatering halt at the edge of the woods just behind a private homestead, the cockpit was torn open in jagged bits, exposing Exeter to the atmosphere, which was blessedly breathable to him. He remained unconcious even as the proximity alarm in his cockpit warned against an approaching life form.

There was a nasty gash across his chest, leaving his uniform in a tattered and bloody mess. His craft, as broken as it was, was still identifiable as nothing even remotely of this planet. He, himself looked distinctly different as well, humanoid, but with a rather pronounced set of protrusions along the slope of his forehead, as if his skull had been slightly malformed. It wasn't truly grotesque, but it was still unsettling.

Meg hears this huge crack of something out in the far side of her property, like something hurtling towards Earth, and then a large, thunderous 'Boom!' rips through the sky, as she grabs her work boots, the shotgun she keeps for protection and her long jacket. She zips it up and she shoves the boots over her feet, and gets into her small ATV, that she uses on her 20 acre lot.

The low hum and sporadic crackling of alien electronics and the sundered crafts power plant which still droned on brought Exeter to with a start. He winced from the painful gash across his chest as the world looked like a blur before his eyes. He shielded them with a trembling hand and groaned. "Computer, disengage safety locks on the elerium chamber and power down the reactor, call sign, firehawk six-six-seven."

"Acknowledged, commander." A calm, soft female voice replied from out of, seemingly, nowhere. Exeter coughed as he sat up. "Download all systems to my comm unit and initiate self destruct on this vessel once I am clear, detonate." He began crawling out of the smoldering crater and wreckage just as he heard the sound of some sort of loud vehicle approaching. The lights nearly blinding him as he cleared the blast radius of the wreckage and a sphere of crackling energy swallowed it all up mere inches behind him.

The sphere collapsed in on itself, leaving only bare and smoldering earth behind him. The last remnants of his once vast and mighty civilization reduced to a mere comm unit. All that his people were contained in this tiny badge on his chest... with his hand up and propped up on one elbow, he peered up into the approaching beams of light and called out. "Help!" Before passing out again from the pain. "Transfer complete, Commander. Commander. Please state what manner of help is required." The female voice from before spoke. "Proximity alert, terrestrial being approaching. Humanoid. Female. Please state your intentions." The computer spoke for Exeter while he lay unconcious.

Seeing the man laying in her field, made her rush over. "My intentions are to help, not harm." She says, her attention to the man, or what she believed was a man, and making sure he was okay. She saw the gash in his chest, and thought to herself, that he would have a better chance of survival if she were at the house. She grabs some of the rope and a couple of boards that were in the back of her ATV, from mending fences earlier in the day. Her heart racing, and her mind racing even faster, but with only one goal, help who ever this thing is. She carefully gets the boards underneath his form, and uses the rope to secure him to them. She attaches a length of rope from the ATV, to the boards. She drives slowly, but the fastest route back to the house.

"Your assistance is greatly appreciated, human female. Commander Exeter's vital signs are failing, he does not have long. Do you have a medical bay near by? This vessel is ruined, I am scanning for anything that is left usable." Every time the calm female voice spoke the badge on Exeter chest lit up. Then, a wide beam of blue light scanned everything in the wreckage. "Two grav-balls, a small portable replicator and a med kit. Activating grav-balls." The badge made a high pitched squeal and then a couple of sphears about the six of soft balls rose from the wreckage.

They hovered in the air, one darting over to a spot in the wreckage and firing some sort of beam into it. A metal case floated up into the air, seemingly held by the beam. Then it darted with the orb over to the human females vehicle. The other orb had retrieved some sort of tube, that looked like a thermos but with a hatch on the side. Storing their finds in her car, they came up under the wooden platform the woman had been tying Exeter to and lifted it up off the ground, keepin it perfectly level.

"There are not any medical bays within a 15 mile radius. I have some medical training, as a nurse's aide." Meg continues, the drive to her home, relatively quiet, except for the howls of the coyotes, and the chirps of the crickets. She drives into the barn, and unties the rope connecting the boards to the ATV. She takes the commander into her home, and puts him in one of the guest rooms. "Do you have a name, Commander's helper?" She asks, getting him transferred to the bed.

"Affirmitive, then you should be able to administer the required care with the medical kit salvaged from Commander Exeter's ship." The female voice assented to Megs offer. In the barn, the computer entity scanned her while she untied the captain and filed her biological readings for Exeter's review later. "I was designated: on board environmental computing apparatus, but seeing as I am no longer tied to the ship, I do not know my current designation. You have been of significant help, human female, what is your designation? I will leave a full report of your assistance for the commander, I am sure he will be very greatful for your help in saving his life."
