This is so sick, you have to laugh or else you would cry.

That is sad, and I think that Jesus (considering you believe in Him) sat with the sinners and really made the religious zealots of his day angry because he was doing so. It dosn't look like that is anywhere close to Christ's behavior.

I think you are right.

Most churches would have Jesus thrown out on his ass.

I understand. I guess I laugh at it because it is so completely preposterous. These people are stooges, you know. Dangerous stooges too.

I just don't understand people who hate other because they are gay, have another skincolor, have another religion and so on. Why can't people just get along

I think it's because they are scared.

And not even they could tell you why.

That is just sick and wrong. And, though I am not crying, I sure as hell won't laugh.

Sure they could...because Mommy and Daddy did...

As Rodgers and Hammerstein so eloquently put it in their musical South Pacific:

"You've Got To Be Carefully Taught "

Wait a second...I just realized that I explained a cause for intolerance and homophobia by using
a SHOWTUNE!!!

hehehehe...oh the irony and stereotypicalness of it all...hehehehe

Havoc the Self Amused

That is one of the most churlish inane things that I believe I have ever seen.

Talk about twisting something to suit your particular point of view.

Living in the bible belt,,, I thought that I had seen and/or heard it all,,, guess I was wrong.

Narrow minded sorry sacks of siberian sheep shit.

Sheesh!

DOUBLE SHEESH !!!!!

This is fucking sad....just sad

Quoted from their "About WBC" page:

In short, we adhere to the teachings of the Bible, preach against all form of sin (e.g., fornication, adultery, sodomy), and insist that the doctrines of grace be taught publicly to all men.

I wonder if they know that there are other sins. Such as Murder? Stealing? Lying?

These people need to get a serious grip on life. The way to get attention is not like that.

Isn't the modern marvel of ignorance and arrogrance a wonderous thing. Yes we humans can pick on our species just cause we feel like it. Bigotry, and hypocracy are the calling card of the new order friends get in line!

How does that sound for a good catch phrase for these people?

God isnt about hate. He is about love. These poor baptists are deluding themselves if they think they are doing gods work.

Very simple yet very true. It is sad not only for the content but also for the example that these that represent the christian faith proclaim.

Ya know, there is a verse in the Bible that states "Judge not that ye be not judged." Boy is this guy in for a rude awakening eh?

It makes me sick that they are teaching their kids to be full of such hatred. Just sick.:(

Geez!!

That was horrible it made my skin crawl!! Man, I've never seen so much hate in one place at one time!! The poor kids being raised in that church...haven't got a prayer of a chance!

That reminds me of a scene in The Brothers Karamazov (I think ) where Jesus comes down from heaven to visit a medieval town that's headed by a Grand Inquisitor. The Inquisitor imprisons Christ and goes into a rather disturbing monologue about how he abandonned the teachings of Christ a long time ago because they were too cruel, and in doing so, aligned himself with the devil. All the while, Jesus just sits there, silent.

*lol*

It is true though........ Ask any of my Brit friends....

*spoken just like Mr. Lapan from Viva Variety*

God Hates Cigarettes....
They're bad for you, and they'll kill you.....

*If you don't get that, then you are needing to be informed that a 'fag' is a slang term for cigarette in England. :)

Yes, these people are idiots.

But....

The problem is that, if you believe the Bible, these idiots are *right*. The Bible says, rather clearly, in Leviticus 20:13

"If a man lies with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads."

That's God talking, not Moses.

The New Testament is somewhat different, but to this day I still get confused about what Jesus meant when he said in Mark 5:17

"Do not think I have come to abolish the Law or the prophets. I have not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them."

It seems to me that most of his teachings directly contradict the Old Testament. I don't now what the hell the Church was thinking when they decided to keep the Old Testament as official Scripture.

That being said, I am personally of the belief that the contradictions in the Bible make it a horrible source of moral wisdom, both Old and New Testaments. So, no, I don't think God hates gay people (if there is a God, which I doubt) :)

Musicals ARE the work of Satan.

That webpage has been around for a while. KFi-640 - our semi-local talk radio - interviewed Fred Phelps (the "reverend") after the Matthew Sheppard murder. He and his followers spend their time protesting at the funerals of gay people. They show up bearing signs that say "God Hates Fags" and "Queer Burn in Hell". Cheery stuff.

Their website used to contain a page full of "facts", like "The average homosexual male swallows 60 gallons of semen in his lifetime", and "All homosexuals have an affinity for young children". That guy's a real winner. The truly scary people, though, are those who support him.

I was raised in a church like this. I'm a depraved little heathen now.
It's a horrible shame that people have to pick through the Bible to take passages out of context to push their own agendas on others.
The compassion, acceptance, and understanding that Christ preached is reserved only for those people who park their cars in a church parking lot, their asses in a pew, and fork over at least 10% of all their earnings to people that live far better than they do (and get it all tax free).
I respect people that go to church - it takes a lot of devotion to get out of bed every Sunday of your own accord - and I respect others beliefs - but my own personal opinion is that organized religion is (ultimately) just another hand waiting to be filled. It's funny how Christ led his life for all intents and purposes in poverty, but guys like the Pope get to live in a virtual palace in Rome....
