But why isn't there a "cheaters" category of stories? It seems like it would eliminate a lot of the flame in Loving Wives.

It is indeed a very old topic. Unfortunately, though this has been suggested and suggested, it doesn't seem as though it's going to happen.

The reason given is that the task of identifying which stories in LW should be moved to the category would be nearly impossible.

Of course, it's been suggested that the original LW category be depreciated, split into two or three categories with a narrower definition, and allowing authors to move old stories from LW to the new, more appropriate categories if they wish... but oh well.

We've tried, but there's not even dust of this poor old horse left to beat

Doesn't hurt to suggest it. Maybe someday it will be part of an overhaul.

Things do change sometimes, but not very often. Personally, I think there should be a Loving Couples category and a Cheaters category. One problem I can see with that is complaints that the categories would probably be limited to straight couples, even though gay couples and lesbian couples both cheat and love.

And, yes, this has been a common sjubject since I started here, and probably before.
