This is not rational thought...

I've noticed a rather disturbing trend lately; the tendency of some to take what other people say concerning religion or politics, and turn it in to a pissing contest for the delight of their own ego... to prove that they are superior or more rational then the next person.

This type of brow beating, in all honesty, doesn't prove a thing; it proves that they are egotistical.

The ability only to argue against, but not discuss, ideas that might be contrary to your own is not proof of rational thought, but rather only proves that you are incapable of civil discussion.

And to think that I was going to pick a fight with you so we could have make up sex.

Guess that won't work now.

Sighhh

We don't have to fight just to have sex, Juicy... ;)

Yes, BB. I make the distinction between opposition, where viewpoints collide headon - which is destructive of dialogue - and apposition where differing viewpoints are placed alongside each other.

As I get older, rationality for me, falls from its pedestal. It becomes a small part of human consciousness.

True. I just think make up sex with all that heat and passion flowing usually is the best kind.

I see that JL got in first, BB. She's on my pedestal, naked and I'm attending to what is in front of my very eyes.

There is a power in saying no, once children realize it, they love to use it. But it takes great courage to say yes to something..to accept something wholly. The rational has it place in the world...but it is the irrational that sets us free!!!!!

*Nods* She's the one that knocked over Rationality, isn't she?

No it isn't. Don't be silly and irrational! Sex is the same no matter whether it's after an argument or not! You are wrong, so there. :p

I can't believe you've said that.

What were you thinking of????

How can you treat me like that?

Don't my feelings matter to you at all?

Can we make up now?

Well said, BlackBird. That is the reason, for example, I almost never get involved in political or religious "discussions" here on the board. For the most part people do not discuss, they tend to have already made up their minds, they spout their unswerving opinion and never listen to whatever anyone else is saying. They seem to be working on the belief system that "whatever I say 3 times must be true."

TY

Wouldn't want sex after an argument.

I think it's much sexier for intelligent people to discuss differing POV's with mutual respect for each other. Then fuck.;)

LOL...You made me laugh, BB, not mad. That's just as good. I believe you need lots of laughter for an excellent fucking session.

Although usually my giggles turn into moans and gasps rather quickly.:p

I haven't posted with you in quite a while. I didn't mean to highjack your thread. I know you like to do the serious, thought provoking stuff. I just do fucking.

And true of electorates,too, Sillyman.

Why doesn't it work on Lit.?

It does work at Lit, although differently.

Rather than acting rationally, the stupid individual engages in an emotional game as means of making a point. The only way to interact with this person is to stoop to their level and play the game with them. Otherwise, they fail to be part of the group.

On Lit the dynamic is more that the stupidest person active on the thread brings down the intelligence of the group.

Yes. You were very mean to me. I expect lots of ass kissing.;)

I have to admit that when you said you were bending over, I thought you were talking about something besides ass kissing. Does playing with me like a helpless cat toy bring out the Domme in You? :p
