Couple puts former Cobain house on eBay

These people paid $42,500 for this house (and if you ask me, they paid way to much) and are attempting to sell it for $200,000. It's value in 2000 was assessed at $52,660.

I looked at this house when I was shopping around. It's a dump. Way overpriced. It needs alot of work (mostly interior work) And the neighborhood is bad!

The article goes on to say that Kurt lived there for 4 years. Not the complete truth. One of those 4 years he lived in my house. Another of those 4 years was spent at his cousins house. And yet another one of those 4 years was spent at another friends house.

I've checked out the auction at ebay and as of right now, there are no bids. Hmmm wonder why?

Do these people honestly think that someone is going to pay $200,000 for this house? How stupid are people? How greedy can people be?

Here is the link to the ebay auction:

Own Kurt Cobain's House, His Childhood Home!

*note* please do me a favor and don't make comments on whether or not you liked Kurt. That's not really what this thread is for. Thank you :)

They're not trying to sell it for $200,000. They're asking for a minimum of $200,000. Pathetic.

a collectors dream i would guess to own a suicide celebs house... they'll probably get it too, thats the sick part

minxy

true.. I didn't even think about that being the minimum amount.

What fucking idiots.

It reminds me of those old Serial Killer Collectable Cards that were being passed around my grade school. People just scare me sometimes.

He lived with you, Freaky?

Kurt Cobain and Nirvana were so overrated. I don't see why people STILL wear their nirvana unplugged shirts.

Well not "with me" but with my family. My brother and him were friends. My brother dated his cousin.. and for a year.. I had Kurt sleeping in the room across the hall from my room. I ate dinner with him. I looked at Playboy magazines with him. I talked to and knew the real Kurt.

I fucking hate what these people are trying to do.

Then stop them. Register a new ebay account and bid the maximum on it... Just put in 9s till it won't take anymore.

I wish it was that easy. Can't they track who made the bid?

It's harder than that. You make up a new email address and you bid.

If you want to be absolutely secure go use a library computer.

I'm to chicken to do it..

I know I'd get caught and be forced to buy a really crappy house in a really crappy neighborhood for way to much money.

People do it all the time. Just don't give your real name and info when you reg.

it would probably serve them right but it's also illegal. a bid on e-bay is a legal contract and can be pursued in a court of law.

It's been done for several pieces of WTC rubble and other objectionable items, it's never really purseued as when it happens, Ebay refunds the cost of listing the house (they can easily list it again)

If they can easily re-list it again, then what's the point Spin?

Yeah right Freak, let me pull out this spare $200G's I've got laying around here. :D You want me to live in a crappy house in a crappy neighborhood, thanks a lot brat. :p

Like you would ever be there anyway ;) It's only 4 blocks from my house.. walking distance baby! ;)

Siren, He lived in it from the ages 11-15 or so.. it's one of his many "childhood homes" not the one he died in.

It is my understanding that homes, land, big ticket items are bid for in such a way that one must register, and be confirmed by Ebay before tendering an offer.

what a pile of shit trying to sell it like it is a landmark.

Especially since he never really lived there.

modest mouse.. that makes sense.
