This board has gotten boring a bit

I notice that recently, the majority of the people on this forum have been concentrating mostly on bisexuality. I don't see anything more about homosexuality. I'm sorry, that doesn't seem fair.

Also, I think we have moved away from serious topics of this forum as well. Yeah, we do have some, but lately, it's has become like the Amaetur Picture/Personals sections of the board.

Look, I'm a bi guy, and I am saying this.

Well, I've found that this board seems to be largely bi, but it doesn't bother me that much. It just seems to reflect the current active membership. Obviously, I'd like to talk with other gay guys, but I've been enjoying myself here anyway.

Personally, I like that casual attitude, overall. If you feel more like discussing serious issues, I guess that you'll have to start threads about them, or bump the old ones. People may participate in that side of things again if someone just gets it started.

Truthfully, this place is just boring for the most part. As far as serious discussions go.... What is there to talk about? What hasn't already been discussed and then rehashed over and over again? And even more important, was there anyone who really disagreed in the first place? This board is mostly full of like minded people, especially as you narrow it down to the GLBT community.

The rest of the board never really held much interest for me, personally, anyway. The 'How to' section is nice, but it's really the same shit over and over: People looking for advice from people who have no way of giving good advice for that specific situation. It's all nothing but generalities, because this is the internet, and it's not really possible to get real perspective on a problem. It's like listening to Love Line on the radio where they have teenagers or people in their early 20s to call in and ask things they should simply ask a doctor, or you know, their partner (common sense people). Of course, that's going to be boring after a while, so then they have to get celebrities to come on to try and make things interesting, but the most interesting person is 'Flava Flave' or whatever his name is, constantly telling people to 'go hit that', because all of the real questions have been answered before. (Thank god we don't have celebrity guests on literotica forum.)

Yeah, you see how I've gone from GLBT forum to Loveline? That's how boring even talking about the forum is :( Of course, I still come here on the off chance that something interesting will pop up, without ever initializing something myself. But mostly I just come for amateur, poorly written, pornographic stories, anyways.

You aren´t the only people who feel, that the board is getting boring. I have felt it quite alot lately. But every now and then, there is a good thread starting, and ok if I am a little thread killer every now and then. Then I am a threadkiller every now and then. But anyway yes the board is boring at times.

Well, if it's gotten boring, then spice it up for Goddess' sake - start some new threads, ressurect some of the more interesting older ones... Talk about dykes and fags rather than boring bi folks (I am one but actually consider myself a bi-dyke or byke and not boring... in the mood i'm in these days, picture harley, LOL)

I pop in here now and then.. I don't know anywhere else that a person can post his or her deepest secrets and feelings with out being bashed or made fun of. You guys and gals are GREAT!
This site is great!! It has not become boring to me yet.... :nana:

Eh, It's not that boring, but all I see is mostly about bisexuals, no gay or lesbian style stuff. I don't really mind since I am bisexual, but I do think alot of the homosexuals on here probably do feel a little left out.

*Shrug* Sorry. I'd love to do something about it to make it more homosexual friendly, but I prefer women. Hell, I prefer them so much I like dressing up and pretending to be one!

... and while I'm pretending to be one, I like entertaining men. :)

I guess you'll have to suffer through boring stories of my crossdressing, sucking cock, being fucked in the ass with a dildo, and serving my Domme in my D/s relationship in all sorts of kinky ways. Hope that doesn't put you to sleep. :p

Not at the all, though I'm not a big fan of crossdressers (no offense). I guess I am just being anal about this stuff.

Just ignore me.

None taken. Different strokes for different folks and all that jazz. :)

Yes, yes, do continue to be anal. I love men who are very anal. ;-)

Would like to get very anal on that ass in that avatar of yours, bi-asian-guy.

*sighs*

You do realize this EXACT thread has been done before, right? We've had this EXACT complaint before! Too boring, too fluffy, too bisexual, not gay enough...and every time I end up saying the same thing.

When I requested the GLBT board to be created back in 2003 and I was made moderator, I tried to monitor the content. I tried to keep people on topic, I tried to keep fluff away. And I got smacked soundly for it. People on Literotica don't want to be told to stay on topic. They don't want to be told what to talk about. And they definitely don't want to be told that their thread isn't substantial enough to be here.

This board is what YOU make it. It's what everybody here makes it. If you don't like what's being discussed, you have two choices: (1) leave, or (2) start threads that are the kind you want to see. Complaining that it's too fluffy/bisexual/whatever makes you feel better, and it lets other people chime in, but it doesn't do anything about the problem.

Personally, I agree with you 100%. This board has always been too heavily focused on fluffy bisexual stuff that gets discussed in multiple threads over and over. But that's just my personal opinion, not a mod opinion. As a mod, all I can say is: GLBT Chatter is what you make it.

I find the lack of gay men interacting here to be interesting. The range of topics are nice. grin...but I like fluff....being of an intense nature it mellows me out. I would love to see more diversity though, that is healthier and educational to see all views expressed. If a thread disturbs me I just stay away. Personally I applaud that Literotica allows such freedom of expression. :)

I would take what you say and generalize it to life...

Its what you make it. If you don't like it go somewhere else, or try to make a difference instead of just complaining as complaining doesn't accomplish anything.

Personally, I find no problems with the board because I'm not expecting anything from it. It is simply an area to exchange or share ideas. Now if I was expecting it to entertain me, then I better be entertaining too. If I'm expecting it to counsel me, then I better be willing to at least try to help others too...

Imagine the spouse who expects to always be fed but doesn't ever cook, help cut the veggies, or for that matter even wash the dishes -- yet complains. It doesn't go very far. (Of course, if you are paying that person to cook that is a different situation.

I have to admit that I appreciate those moments when someone shares something of themselves in a posting -- other than simply stating "who I had sex with" or "what kind of sex we just did". However, I'm fine if it isn't the case, just know that there isn't that extra spark of being moved by the submission.or the submitter.

(I may write more later, but right now I'm just too sleepy.)

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I agree. Probably because you have these people who dont believe in the First Amendment who blast others when they speak their minds or from the heart. IT really hurts. I have an opinion if you dont like it that is fine. But dont tell me to leave because i will tell you where you can go. That is the problem with this board. If a persons opinion is not the so called norm and it stirs controversy all of a sudden you get accused of spilling hate .
Now we will continue with all the innocent beautiful flowery talk and bore the entire list of members. Yes i agree boring zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

See, 27, you spout "First Amendment," but it has really nothing to do with that at all. It's both reactionary and stupid to describe other people telling you your an asshole as "[not believing] in the First Amendment."

In fact, I'll go one step past that - By you getting all bent out of shape over us telling you, "stop being an inconsiderate prick," you're actually infringing on OUR First Amendment right to tell you your an asshole.

The moral of the story : If you're going to open your trap to say something mean or critical, expect to either get it slapped back shut by multiple people, or to be told outright to STFU.

By no stretch of the imagination is telling someone "You have no freaking sense of style whatsoever," considered to be simply a "differing opinion," and not just being mean for the sake of being mean. If you have nothing nice to say, don't say it at all.

By the way, perception is everything. Maybe you should start by stating the facts as that may improve your credibility. I am not reacting to juvenile name calling either. No i am not bent out of shape. And you are putting words in my mouth. I am not sure that you know what i am referring too. I will express my opinions openly and honestly beause i have a right to do that. Calling a person inconsiderate or a prick or accusing one of preaching hate when they dont, or even sillier, when they dont even know that person, is ignorant.
And a person has every right to do that, but now who is spilling the hate? And that is my point. So before you call me a hypocrite or insult my intelligence maybe you should examine who the inconsiderate prick maybe.
