This board has become laughable

Reminds me of that old Monty Python sketch: 'Come on, come on! Fight me!'

The Liberals can't win based on actual facts so all they can do is pick a fight by hurling lame insults then "cry why are you attacking me?" when you respond with actual facts. Or misquote you and then tell you you said something you didn't.

Ignorant, childish, narcissistic, two faced hypocrites is what makes up the Democrat party. And the sad thing is, while they claim to be "peaceful" it's a war they are trying to incite and they are about to get it.

It will start in Virginia.

Most internet forums where people discuss politics are that way. Occasionally I have a relapse and wonder into one and quickly realize why i left. I recently had one and was in here posting, but quickly realized why I gave it up. No one in the history of the internet has changed their opinion based on what someone else said in an internet chatroom.

Quit projecting.

Actual facts?
Since when has the Right ever admitted any facts? They only invent them.

They are very selective of what they accept as fact. They spew "whut aboutisims" as if two wrong can be reconciled?

They divert and dissemble.

Arrogance and bluster, rather than debate.

No one buys your bluster.

Merry Impeachmas!

The Motte says it better than I could:
Optimistically, we might agree that being nice really is worth your time, and so is engaging with people you disagree with.

More pessimistically, however, there are a number of dynamics that can lead discussions on Culture War topics to contain more heat than light. There's a human tendency to divide along tribal lines, praising your ingroup and vilifying your outgroup -- and if you think you find it easy to criticize your ingroup, then it may be that your outgroup is not who you think it is. Extremists with opposing positions can feed off each other, highlighting each other's worst points to justify their own angry rhetoric, which becomes in turn a new example of bad behavior for the other side to highlight. We would like to avoid these dynamics.
