Third Millennium Publishing

A good clear article on the economics of e-book publishing -- once the link was fixed. :p

Third Millennium Publishing is definitely upfront about the $300 charge for formatting a story -- I do wonder if it's worth the money even with the "famous authors" to attract readership, though.

Thanks Lou 123,

I found the article extremely informative - as I am sure you are aware there have always been genuine self publishers and the sharks, the problem for authors has always been to sort out which they are dealing with. Looks like 3M are pretty upfront and honest.

In the UK there's an outfit called Rocket Publishing who Frederick Forsyth is signed up with. They are not a vanity publisher, they select the books they will publish. - To the best of my knowledge their charges start with a UKP75 reading fee. And I think if they decide to publish you get about 70% royalty.
