My baby is going to be 9 years old this weekend. So we invited some friends home, 3 boys and 4 girls, to spend the afternoon with us.

Now I'm wondering how I will entertain them?

They are a bit too old for donkey's tail, the music chair and so on... So anyone got ideas? or a link to a fun website?

thanks

get a clown and start some phobias-

Seriously, whats you bugdet?

We took my daughter and some kids to the zoo for a birthday outing...followed by a pizza party. It was fairly cheap, and kept them occupied.

For my 9th birthday my parents hired an accountment and taught me and my homiez all about portfolio divesity and retirement allocation. It was bitchin!

Phobia LMAO

mmmmm budget, not much that is. But if they play game and win I could buy tiny things for the winners.

But nothing out of the house, no clowns or other invited costing people.

thanks again

hmmm....maybe something like make your own pizza?....get those lil already made crusts or roll out your own....have all sorts of toppings.....some of that teeny bopper music playing....a movie perhaps?

i don't know much about preteens....;)

Throw a bunch of cheap stuff around and let them go and find it. Most kids like to play so nothing fancy is needed.

I like paper stuff, too. Give them supplies and let them create on their own.

Have cake, ice cream. Hose down the house after they go home.

We went roller skating the last party. I didn't have to clean up.:)

yeah me too Ginny, thats why I ask here :)

One of her friends suggest a game of bowling, thats cool

I will make a visit to Lovetoread website to give me more idea. ty LTR

We're going to do the bowling alley party this year. Clean up scares me.

Don't over-organize. Let them play. Let them do stuff they couldn't do normally. Like nail a tarp to a wall and cover it with butcher's paper and let them fingerpaint on the wall.

Or just give them lots of snacks, a cool video, and video games to watch. They can usually entertain themselves when in groups. Maybe a monster movie marathon sleepover? Turn the den into a campground with lots of popcorn and stuff.

Provide some videos, music, food, and be around but not visible. They will entertain themselves.

God forbid a parent try to organize a preteen type party. You Baby would be mortified LOL

I did that for my 11 years old last month! they were only girls, 8 of them, I urge them to go to bed at 10h30 PM and at 2 in the morning they were still trying to sleep, I was dozing in the living room waiting for them to sleep before going to bed... it was a tireing birthday party. But they got so much fun, girls, musics, pizza, pop corn, a scary DVD....... yeah I hope she will remember it a long time, I dont think I would do it each years.

Good idea! AAAAAA++++++++++++ Would definitely read again!

Seriously. It's the party that keeps giving.

One of my co-workers daughter just turned 11. They played a cool game. She got the idea off of the internet somewhere (sorry don't know where!)

Get a bowl for each kid. Put a gumball at the bottom of it, and fill it with whipped cream. The first one to get the gumball and blow a bubble wins!

I wanted to play!!!! :D

aren't you people listening to what I'm saying?
