RP is american (I thinK) but at the very least he's representing a dominant ideology within the us that the war on iraq is just. I'm bucking the system, excercising my free speech and questioning that dominant ideology.

Besides, why not question outside ideologies too? I happen to think that organized religion is the opiate of the masses...and that everyone should question their religious teachings...why do you believe what you do? Do you actually buy into your religion? and if not, what are you going to do about it?

Are you insinuating that political discussion cannot be one thinking for themselves or questioning authority?

Not when everyone is just repeating the same arguements over and over again. Lather, Rinse, Repeat; Lather, Rinse, Repeat. Everyone is so intent on making sure that those other people (whether they are Democrat or Republican) are wrong that they forget that government is about solving problems. They stop trying to create new solutions and just push for the old solutions that never worked in the first place.

But if he was outside the U.S., he would also be questioning the dominant ideology.

I am completely the wrong person of whom to ask this; I am an occultist. By my very nature, I question all religious teachings, including my own theories.

I think this is a very shallow, pat answer. I think it's a lot easier to say this than to actually understand the issues.

Is it a shallow, pat answer? It isn't something that you hear someone say often in a political discussion. You assume that I do not understand the issues on the basis that I see something that you don't, or perhaps something you won't. This is the way in which *I* question authority.

Dude we don't even have season 1 on dvd yet...11/4 for season one. ONly the premiere is out on dvd. I think it's all avail on vhs though..horrible outdated medium.
