I’ve noticed that the little chocolate bar variety packs normally sold at Halloween are being advertised right now as treat sized, etc.

I think this means They know there aint gonna be a Halloween this year and are quietly dumping their stock early before everything goes to complete shit this Fall.

I think They are spoonfeeding us.

Make healthier choices

Covid and rioting are going to cancel everything this year and next year as well. Covid is the bigger party pooper of the two and will ruin all kinds of things including Halloween. Thanksgiving with the family? Sorry, cancelled. A while Christmas holiday with mom & dad? Nope, not happening.

Here's the real kicker; Covid is still going to be "out there" next year. Even with a vaccine, it's still going to be there. We don't know the efficacy of any potential vaccine (even if we manage to actually create one) and it may turn out that any protection against the virus is fleeting as it mutates and the vaccine becomes ineffective.

Right now, the generalized thinking is akin to believing that if you wear a mask and wash your hands you won't get dirt underneath your fingernails. The problem is that dirt is still going to be there. And you still have fingernails.

So what are you going to do? Wear a mask the rest of your life while you homeschool your kids instead of working and saving for a good retirement? And forget about saying your last goodbye to your parents, or even any goodbye (or even hi mom!), in person.

Welcome to the new world order. It's not like the old world, or even like you thought the new world was going to be like. Instead you get someone telling you what you can't do. Which is everything you used to do.

Like I said, I think They are spoonfeeding us to keep things from completely unravelling.

Still haven't gone outside, have ya, WuHan Warrior? :D

Halloween will be cancelled. It will be celebrated next June.

The real question is what will happen to the tens of millions of people in the usa when the free money runs out; 2023's a long time away for the woke n broke.

Even worse, what happens when the bill for the free money comes due. I suspect our grandkids are really going to hate us.

OP continues to prove their stupidity. Those packs of 'funsized' stuff are available all year. Sometimes stylized in reds and pinks in February, pastel colors in April, red, white and blue in July and reds and greens in November and December.

The only underlying conspiracy is profit for the candy makers.

It won’t be that way after November and the adults start coming back.

Then you can go back to bitching about the national debt and other shit you neither understand or actually care about, maybe even Benghazi or pizza parlor sex slaves.

The sky’s the limit when you don’t have to defend COVID-45 stupidity day-after-day.

Yep. We can't celebrate Halloween here.

What pisses me off is I can't get my normal size York peppermint pattie now.

Hershey Co. (HSY) is confident that consumers will want to take their kids trick-or-treating this Halloween despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. "It is an outdoor event. And it's an event where a lot of masks are already worn," said Michelle Buck, Hershey's chief executive on the company's recent second-quarter earnings (link) call, according to a FactSet transcript. "There's no evidence of the virus being passed through packaging or food, so we feel pretty good based on what we're seeing so far from consumer feedback." Hershey reported a profit that beat expectations, but sales fell short. Hershey has already started shipping Halloween orders, Buck said, with shipments continuing through early October. Hershey didn't provide 2020 guidance due to the uncertainty caused by the pandemic, and Buck leaves the door open for a shift between now and Halloween. "f trick-or-treat tends to be a little lower than expectation, clearly, we'll focus even more on the treat for me and the candy bowl occasion," she said. About half of the Halloween product sold is for "self-consumption," and some of the product has already shifted to "everyday packaging." Stifel analysts think that most of the orders for Halloween are set, but will still keep an eye on developments given the surge in coronavirus cases and lockdown measures. Analysts note that Halloween accounts for 10% of the company's sales and 40% of third-quarter sales. Stifel rates Hershey stock hold with a $140 price target. Hershey stock is down 0.3% for the year to date while the S&P 500 index is up 0.3% for the period.
