If they sold stamps at the bank, for one.

They should really just distribute the whole post office idea around the city and offer its services in various types of stores, the post office blows.

Also, you should have to make an appointment to renew your license or ID. Lines drag.

Horse drawn carriage rides make me sad as hell. Horses shouldn't have to have their hooves manipulated to clop on pavement and walk behind car fumes, but that's just a personal gripe.

Oh, there's so many more.

i know its a big ask for it to happen

but i'd like people to act friendly and curteous to each other and give everyone the time of day like you get in smaller towns and citys

what city were you refering to?

I would say something about knocking down a few buildings, but it might be considered in poor taste.

More mass transit and reliable cabs.....fewer cars

More small stores...fewer large crowded stores

More places nearby to get out of the city for the weekend. :)

Sounds like you should move to the country.

In my city, the bank does sell stamps. . .

I agree with the rest.

Yanno...this one always kills me. I bank everyday...sometimes twice a day for my businesses, and it seems like every week....without fail...someone will ask a teller if they sell stamps there.

Do you go into Wal-Mart and ask for a order of McNuggets? Nope.

Why? Because one has nothing to do with the other.

A bank is a bank. A post office is a post office. Sure...it might be *CONVENIENT for a person to get their stamps there...but hell, for that matter it would be *convenient for me to get my oil changed, my hair cut, my teeth drilled and my taxes done all in the same place, all never having to leave the seat of my car.

Convenience is overrated. Life isn't meant to be easy.

:p Alex, yanno I luv ya....but you've just gone too far, baby. LOL

You can get stamps at newsstands and 7/11 type convenience grocery stores with a few cent markup. I don't know where you are in Chicago, but Lincoln Park stamps are everywhere since they closed the post office on Clark St.

I agree with you on everything else. The Daley Center is an insane asylum and they should ban horse drawn carriage rides.

Since we are on the subject, people who do not know how to rollerblade should stay away from the lakefront paths and Navy Pier must stop renting those 4 person bicycle things to the moronic tourists.

I don't venture into Lincoln Park unless I'm visiting people, I keep to where there's parking..

Don't get me started on the Daley Center. E fucking Gad.

The last part of your post is just hilarious..and so true.

Vilac, this is a wishlist doll, deal with me on it.

Then my wish encircles all the above things in my previous post.

Just thinking of the time it'll save me over the course of a year is making me hot. :D

That's the problem !! I like the cultural amenities and the restaurants and clubs and nightlife in the city too much to move.

LOL

for the buses to actually be able to drive in the bus lane on time instead of having to overtake parked cars, vans, taxis, and other inconsiderate pricks

the bus drivers in Chicago could't stay in the bus lane if they actually tried..... and why do they have to stop on every freakin' block....

Hmmm...I'm thinking you'd be a good candidate for Seattle.

since we are on the subject of buses..... why is it that the fattest, smelliest, ugliest person has to sit next to me..... for once it would be nice to have an attractive, intelligent woman (and there are plenty in Chicago) sit next to me.....

You hit THAT nail right on the head! LOL

I LOVE Seattle. The farmer's market is one of the best I've ever seen. Whenever I go there, I try to scheme to have breakfast at the market at least a couple of times.

Was up there a few years ago for the jet boat races on the lake, and had an absolute blast. The "scenery" wasn't bad, either. <grin>

Fantastic weather, really nice people, and you can hop the Cat and be 150 years back in history in Canada in no time at all.

The only thing I didn't like much was the rain. You could mildew to death.

LOL

I usually take the 66, if I'm not driving.

very very true

i always get the big busty caribbean women (living in north london)

I prefer no one to sit next to me as i suffer from mild claustraphobia and a smelly packed bus is a sheer delight
