Things that piss you off?

What pisses me off?

1. being judged on appearance alone

2. animal cruelty

3. rude and ignorant people

4. my sons girlfriend

5. shallow people

6. general laziness (I piss myself off with this one way too much)

7. telemarketers (any situation where something is solicited thats unasked for)

8. presidential speeches and sports that pre-empt my regular program

9. that money is so damn important in the world we live in

I agree, could go on forever. I came here first, so I'll have to go to WFYS now to feel better.

OPEC...Those dirty sons of bitches! Where is John Wayne when we need him. HE wouldn't put up with this horse shit!

The bewildering cost of decent pipe tobacco and decent rhum.

My severe lactose intolerance combined with my severe chocolate addiction.

People who think they know you and your business better than you do and decide it to be their calling to correct you.

The lack of Jehova's witnesses at my door. I really miss someone to torture.

I have no chocolate at the moment. That sucks.

The fact that it is still nearly -10 Celsius degrees and snowy as hell here.

The fact that I can't find whole nutmegs from my grocery store. Someone is clearly trying to suppress my vices.

My fairly new shoes leak so I can't wear them whenever I like.

My naturally bit weavy hair. It's a battle to untangle them every bloody morning. And they never stay where they should without a litre of hairspray.

Trying to navigate a cart through a grocery store. I think I'll start doing my shopping at night.

I hardly ever grocery shop during "normal" hours anymore unless I have to. I go to the 24hr "bag your own" store at 7am on a Sunday or Saturday. Takes 30-45mins instead of an hour or more, no traffic, few people. No fuss, no muss.

I used to teach part-time at a university. Some of the faculty refused to speak to me because I didn't have a PhD.

Some of the most snooty annoying people I've known were uni professors. Definately influenced my decision to avoid a career in academia. A phd, BS or BA doesn't mean a person is necessarily smart. I hate people who wave that around.

Oh, to add another thing that pisses me off.. april fool's day.

Yaspis--advice: ethnic grocery. Braiding. See y'all later, gotta class to go to.

Things that piss me off:

1) drivers making a right turn at a red light sitting through the red light waiting for the green light just because there is a sign that says "No right turn when children are present". Well there are no kids for miles around! Read the sign, jerkwad!

2) Walking behind someone in the grocery store that is pushing their cart so slow it's not even funny, and they won't get out of the way.

3) Hearing someone say "Ya know what I'm sayin" or "Ya know what I mean" after every damn sentence they speak.

4) Seeing guys with the crotch of their pants down to knee level. Pull your goddamn pants up, dickhead!

5) Employers giving preferential treatment to an employee just because that employee is of a different gender or race or both. What ever happened to fair and equal treatment for all employees?

6) Totally stupid drivers (goes along with #1 above)

7) Cars or trucks with the back end lowered and the front at stock height. What an ass.......

8) Small import cars with a fart pipe and the drivers that think they have a real fast car. Sheesh........

9) Bill collectors that make calls with the computer, and when you answer and say hello, no one says hello back until they come on the line. If no one says hello when I say hello, I hang up. If they want to talk to me, they can call me like a normal person would call.

10) Banks that bounce a check that you wrote when it comes in the same day as your direct payroll electronic deposit, and then charge you 30 bucks! The funds are there you jerks! Honor the damn check!

11) Being next to a car that has the bass coming out of the subwoofers cranked up so much that it rattles my truck. Isn't the premium high end factory stereo that your car came with good enough for you assholes???

12) When you make payment arrangements with a creditor, and you think all is good, then they sell your account to a collection agency, then when you call them up, they say they are not authorized to make payment arrangements, and there is nothing they can do, and tell you that you are out of luck. Thanks for nothing!!

13) People with no common sense.

14) Religous people that are so obssesed with the bible, that they don't read anything else, won't listen to anything but christian music, can't talk about anything without turning it into a religous debate, have a closed mind about everything else, judge people by how they believe (not IF they believe, but HOW they believe) and call the Catholic church the great whore.
(This is a sore spot with me as you can tell)

15) People that think the only good cars are imports and think that all American made cars and trucks are junk. WHAT A CROCK OF BULLSHIT!!!

After all of this, can you tell that I have issues? I have more, but I feel that I said enough for now. I especially have a big issue with #5 above. It's happening where I work, and it's sickening.

I freaking agree!!! I hate it all!

Black appliances with black switches. People that send you documents that are reduced to less than 75% of their original size. Yes, I'm getting older (that pisses me off too). The designers of the monocolor appliances and the senders of the reduced documents will get there too. Heh heh heh.

seeeee....I told you there was more
( this list brought to you by my beautiful family who last night managed to find a host of new things that piss me off!)

1. the fact that my 9 yr. old does not understand the meaning of the phrase..." scrape the dishes before you put them in the sink" and I therefore have a drain full of table scraps every night.

2. That my 32 yr. old husband will have my screaming 4 month old in his hands and will try to determine what exactly is wrong with her by asking, " WHAT?" over and over again!! Hellllooooo genius, she's a baby. Do you really think she's gonna pipe up with, " well now that you ask daddy my diaper seems to be a wee bit ripe would you be a dear and change it for me!!"

3. That my 4 yr. old has developed a nasty penchant for telling bald faced lies.

4. That I can be in the kitchen fixing dinner for 5 while breastfeeding my youngest and feeding the pets and unloading the dishwasher but the minute that I finally snap from the kitchen " Hey a little help would be nice guys." my family says, " well if you'd asked we'd have been there." Ummmm excuse me but exactly how many damn things am I supposed to do at once before it's obvious help is needed.

5. That we have 2 cell phones so that either of us can be reached at any time for an emergency but my darling husband ALWAYS leaves his at home!!!

6. That my daughters definition of " walking the dog" is to let him out the backdoor and go back to playing her gameboy.

7. Having to repeat in the grocery store at least 3 times " I only have enough money to get this one thing." and then having them look at me like I'm TRYING to deprive them of what they want.

8. that my husband and my daughters cannot ever make a point to each other in a civil manner, especially the oldest. If I wanted to watch a fight with dinner I'd eat at the sports bar.

9. My daugTher who heard my cell phone ring and never bothered to mention I'd missed a call until several HOURS LATER!!!

1O. That it will never fail that the exact momemnt that I have approached sheer exhaustion and need desperatley to lay down and have a little peace is the precise moment that every member of my family will need me for some asinine thing they could have handled on their own.

Mskey - i can sooooooooo relate!!!!!

it pisses me off ..........

1. when everyone can see that the trashcan is full, yet, rather than empty it, they just open the lid and keep piling the crap on top.

2. the fact that no-one else can actually see that the milk is empty, and therefore put the empty bottle back in the fridge. and then the next person comes along, looks at the empty bottle, and put's it back in the damn fridge!

3. when, no matter how many times i tell the other half, he will always put my white towels into the machine with my black uniform.

4. when the clothes are removed from the dryer, but left crumpled in the basket, making my ironing load enormous!

5. when the vacuum cleaner is screaming, but won't pick anything up - i mean, GOOD GRIEF! how hard is it to empty the fucking bag?

6. when every single dish, pot, utensil and knife in the kitchen is used to make spaghetti bolognese.

7. when the kids stand with the front door wide open during a storm, while i have the fire on. geeze guys, it is letting the heat out, and the damn rain and leaves in! can they just not see that?

8. when my daughter decides to play 'haircuts' with her best friend - the day after i've spent $45 getting her hair fixed at a salon from the last effort!

9. when my eldest son forgets his homework assignment again.
for the 5th time.
in 5 weeks.
and his teacher calls me again.
for the 5th time.
in 5 weeks.

10. when my kids all crowd around me after i've given them a blast for their laziness, and they all give me a 'group hug' and tell me they love having me as their mum!!!!
(melts me every time).

I can relate to every one of those items!

One more item: the Spongebob Squarepants episode I'm watching now. This show is extremely silly, and violates every existing law of physics and maybe a few that don't, but the Spongebob Goes Prehistoric has reached the absolute nadir of silliness.

Another thing that pisses me off: if I have Launch.com up, and then go through my e-mail and start clicking on links to Literotica forum replies, it boots me out of Launch.com, so that I have to go directly to the forum, and then it doesn't take me to where I left off in the thread.

Yet another thing that pisses me off: the relative humidity around here, which according to yesterday's weather report was only 19%, and is only 57% right now. What the fuck is this? My neighborhood is within walking distance, just about, of the St. John's river. We are a half mile away from the Atlantic Ocean. This is just wrong. My husband, who never puts on moisturizer right after he gets out of the shower the way I do, itches and scratches constantly. The drought index is over 200. We're on fire alert. We recently had fires, which were only just now put out, within the city limits. This sucks! You'd think we lived in Albuquerque--or, given the proximity of the ocean, the Skeleton Coast. We never had this problem when we lived on the Gulf Coast.

Infomercials....

Honestly..Ok..I work late at night and the tv is on..so I am stuck watching car credit deals, juice machines, and the latest Ronco product..And if I have seen the same one more than twice in one night on more than two stations, I am guessing the rest of the sorry sob's up this time of night have too...Give us a break and run Mash reruns for god's sake...

PBS moneythons aren't this bad...

**FF'ers Note...This rant does not include that Windsor Pilattes infomercial with Daisy...I could watch that sucker all night long...with one hand on the "remote" ;)

college decisions

people who are too scared to tell you the truth, because they think it will hurt you (as if there's much of a friendship left if you AREN'T honest? i think not).

did i mention college decisions?

yah, that's it

Men who say they will call but don't. (Not to be redundant or anything)

Being called on a cell phone.

Bad drivers.

People with no common sense.

Arrogance.

Snow in April.

Those who decide they know what it best for me, as if I am an errant child and not a mature woman capable of making my OWN goddamn decisions.

I live in an apt. now, so I guess I'll never see them anymore. YAY!!

Someone whose job it is to set appointments for you by telephone, who, while she's looking up your screen in the computer or your page in the appointment book, is going "Ch-ch-ch-ch, ch-ch-ch-ch..." right in your ear.

I wish. They or other church types show up at my apt. door every so often. The pollsters and other politicos are starting to crawl out of the woodwork now since its an election year.

Worse are those high schoolers/college kids who pimp magazine subscriptions so they can have a trip to Paris or Jamaica or whereever. I had those guys bugging me when I was still in school.

The kids selling candy bars are okay though. :D

People who, for lack of better word, attack my wife... and there's nothing I can do about it. Of all the times I wish it was legal to call someone out in the street and shoot them... but if it was... I'm pretty sure I'd be calling whoever it was out right now.

"Friends" who cower when the going gets tough...or who weren't there for the right reasons in the first place, then try to pretend they were. It is insulting.

*sigh*

For some reason, ever since I've been in this town, I've somehow managed to draw every trainee, every newbie, when it comes to certain jobs. I always seem to get the new clerk that doesn't know how to run my debit card, void a sale, or doesn't know that you ring up a chicken dinner deal by passing the special bag over the scanner because the bar code's on the bottom, etc.

This afternoon I took my lunch box and a Folio Weekly down to the riverfront because it had turned pretty after raining cats and dogs all morning. I enjoyed my cheese and apple and basked in the sun, and then when I went back in, there was a security guard who was new on the shift at that particular entrance to the courthouse, so she didn't know who I was, and insisted on seeing my ID, which I didn't have, because while the people who actually work in the courthouse have ID badges, I don't because I work for a legal publisher in the courthouse, and was I going to take my purse with my driver's license in it out if I wasn't going to shop? They ended up calling my supervisor (I don't know if she's technically my supervisor but she has been working there forever and knows more than the rest of us) who had to come out and tell them I was who I said I was. By the time the whole tsimmes was over my good mood had somewhat deteriorated.

People who lie to me and then get all upset when confronted with their lie. Especially since I tell people upfront I don't lie and I don't want to be lied to either.
